NZ year end chart: #15 TTPD #32 Mayhem

New Zealand Year-end Charts (2025)

#2 The Life of a Showgirl

#15 TTPD

#32 Mayhem

This is during certain pop girl "mania"

What happen ?

Congrats to both of them for doing so well.

Also shoutout to Kpop Demon Hunters for actually topping the list lol.

Why do you make more threads about Gaga than your own fave is the real question here rip

Mayhem barely avoided Flop status because of DWAS units. It's free-falling everywhere and OUT of the charts in many countries.

TTPD and Showgirl are actual smash albums santa

The Excel sheet stans still not getting that Gagamania isn't just about chart stats rip

It's a combination of many things that have created such a global frenzy around Gaga these past few months: Yes, it's also the chart success, including the biggest hit of all time as per UWC, but it's also the universal acclaim of her music (which not everyone has), it's her being the frontrunner to win AOTY, it's the cultural ubiquity of Mayhem, Abracdabra, the tour, DWAS, it's literally the biggest live concert by a female artist in history, it's the most acclaimed festival show ever performed, it's the tour being a viral sensation… it's all these things working together that have created a Gagamania-type phenomenon. cm

I'm more shocked that TLOAS isn't #1 tbh.

The soundtrack from KDH is the only 2x platinum album in New Zealand released this year having a few more months to accumulate numbers compared to TLOAS, while TLOAS did pretty good having reached platinum in two and a bit months. Olivia Dean is the pop girl smashing in New Zealand at the moment and her album will probably smash into next year as well.

Complete and utter delusionrip

I think it's undeniable that Gaga had a great year. Huge tour, successful album for such a mature artist, and the biggest hit of the century. Also an artistic slam dunk and absolutely a return to form. By far her best studio effort in over 10 years.

It's stupid of Swifties and Monsters to pit Gaga and Taylor against one another commercially. And I've done it, too! Always in retaliation, but it's just dumb all around. They like and respect one another, and Gaga and Taylor just aren't competing commercially. No one is competing with Taylor. Monsters look delusional and Swifties look insecure.

Also not everyone has to have everything. The only "mania" of the 21st century is Taylor's 2020s run. The media, other musicians, and even the remaining Beatles themselves have talked about it. Taylor moved more album units in 2023-2025 than Gaga has in her entire career. She also outgrossed the lifetime touring gross of every female artist without dynamic pricing which her direct touring peers Gaga and Beyonce enabled.

Gaga had an amazing year that was very impressive this deep. But Mayhem isn't on the level of Madonna's Ray of Light, Music, or Confessions commercially and no one was calling those eras a Beatles-like mania. Besides, by far the closest Gaga got to any type of "mania" was her early career and it's much more so than now.

Can you all stop calling it the biggest hit of the century when it's not. Shape of you says hello.

Idk, I think you can make a real case for it. Immortal chart run and early recurrent stats seem really strong, too. Whether it's Shape of You, Blinding Lights, or DWAS, they're all incredibly massive.

Not really. SOY has huge lead on youtube, digital sales, apple music and it has excellent recurring stats.

None of the "manias" are about the stats. The difference between the alleged Gagamania and others is that it cannot be represented by any objective data. It exists solely in the vibes of fans.

So for some artists it's called vibes, but for Gaga, it's called Gagamania.
