I just remembered the Live at the O2 she released in 2022. Such a great live too, I loved the HTE era sm and that show was so perfect! But I saw someone say somewhere that it's no longer available on Apple Music. Is that true? (I don't use AM so I'm not sure).

I'm so happy she recorded the show so people who couldn't be there can see how amazing she is live. I cannot wait to see her on the stage again.

I think 2–3 years between albums is the sweet spot if you want consistently high-quality music. Releasing every year is creatively very difficult unless an artist is going through a major life event or an unusual creative peak, but those are exceptions not the rule. An album's release–promotion–tour cycle can easily take 2 years, and it's normal to need another year to actually write the next album. Very few artists can write properly while touring, and recording, production and post-production take months anyway. Even prolific artists need time between eras if they want to consistently put out great work imo. OT: Between the choices, I'd prefer 4–5 years, though only established artists can really afford to be inactive for that long. For newer artists, being away that long is risky ppl might forget about them or simply lose interest. On the other hand established artists releasing every year risk creative burnout and overexposure, and eventually people can start turning against them.

I had a bit of free time today and been digging a bit more about the album timeline There's an interview with FINNEAS from October 2025 where he says they'd been working on some stuff. We also know she was on tour between September '24 and November '25, with a few breaks, and had a small studio traveling with her, so it's possible she cooked up some first drafts on the road. But definitely by the end of 2025 they were actively starting to work on it. Then in a November 2025 Rolling Stone interview, FINNEAS said: "Billie is doing her last few weeks of her world tour, and then we're back in [the studio] making some new Billie stuff." The ELLE interview with Billie from April 2026 was the first time she talked about the album. She was asked directly if BE4 was on the way, and she said: "Oh yeah, we're more than halfway." Then, on May 6, Smallzy asked Billie to elaborate, and she confirmed: "we are halfway through making it and I am loving it." She also said it was "literally not coming out for a goddamn ******* year" and that there was still much to do. In that HERO interview in July this year, FINNEAS confirmed they were still working on the album and still writing brand-new songs, while also finishing parts of existing ones. With all we know by now I'd say the most likely release window could be March–May 2027 if everything goes to plan. She'll probably do some promo for a few months and announce the tour for 2028. With some luck, she might also do a few summer festivals like she did with HTE. It also makes sense to release it around that period because Bell Jar movie will probably come out September 2027 (Toronto and Venice festivals are around that time and Sarah Polley has premiered her films at both), and she'll likely be busy for a bit with premieres, promo, interviews, etc. Then, hopefully, she'll be campaigning for awards at the end of the year and awards season will be full force January-February 2028. One thing is for sure after all this drought 2027 is gonna be a HUGE YEAR for Billie stans

He said it now but was not surprising since they did this with HMHAS too. They've been leaning more into using real instruments for a while. Even though they initially make the songs just the two of them, they'll add instruments later. I really want some snippets too. I can't wait to know what the BE4 sound will be. The only snippets we got (that I can remember) was late 2024 while she was on tour and she said she was only playing around but sounds great

Literally what I said LOL ...movie in a year (September/October 2027) and album before that Again we're agreeing if the album is finish for Q1 (jan~march) she will start teasing something but the production of the physical copies still takes a while after they are finished with the final mix so release will probably be on Q2 (April-june)- Let's hope she has something surprising before the end of the year to keep us going ... a special performance, a stand-alone or collab...alsomthis would be the perfect year to release the Xmas album/song I've been wanting since 2019

We really need something new 😭 We don't know how far along the album is, but she did mention it was halfway done in April, so even counting the 3 month pause for filming the movie, they're probably (hopefully!!) getting close to finish it. If that's the case, maybe we could get a release in Q2 2027? Maybeeee 👀 If things go normally can see the movie premiering around September/October, and she'll probably be super busy with premieres and interviews, and then awards campaigning if it's well received. So I really don't see her stacking the album release and movie premiere in the same quarter.

Yes. In an ELLE interview back in April, she said, "We're more than halfway. So that's all I'll say." She was shooting The Bell Jar in July/August, but it seems like filming is over now, so they'll be back to work on the album and finish it. No dates yet, but most likely we'll have BE4 in 2027.
