Gaga ain't going to post about ICE. There's nothing for her to say that we don't already know she believes in. I criticize stars for a lot, but one I'll never understand is the requirement that they release zero impact statements on situations they have no connection to. This especially happens to Swift a lot.

She can post something besides her own disapproval, for example practical advice about how to protest efficiently or remind people of what their rights are and how to stay safe.

She still does it's just more subtle and less saturated. A lot of her black hairstyles she rocks this era are actually different shades or darker green or blue

Do you think she is really going to perform at the Grammys this Sunday? When was her performance with Bruno announced last year?

PITCHFORK / Grammy predictions

ROTY

will win APT

should win Abracadabra

"But if it's top-to-bottom production and performance the Grammys are allegedly after, "Abracadabra" should win. The MAYHEM single doesn't exactly warrant a Lifetime Achievement nod. But after a decade of the Academy pointedly rewarding Gaga's more traditionalist work, seeing her clinch her first Record of the Year for a song sharing more DNA with "Swine" than "Shallow" would be extremely satisfying. —Hattie Lindert"

AOTY

will win MAYHEM

should win Bad Bunny

Pop Vocal Album

will win MAYHEM

should win MAYHEM

"Now here's one that Lady Gaga can and should run away with handily. Let's break it down. "Pop": She last won Best Pop Vocal Album in 2011 for The Fame Monster, which reshaped pop music in its image, and Mayhem is arguably her best full-length project since. "Vocal": Nobody has pipes like Gaga, and a decade-and-a-half of training for the stage and screen has made her a more dynamic, expressive singer. "Album": Sure, after 17 tracks, Mayhem limps to the finish line a bit, but show me a stronger run of pop singles (and could've-been singles) from this year's eligibility period than "Disease" into "Abracadabra" into "Garden of Eden" into "Perfect Celebrity." It's hard to imagine even last year's winner, Sabrina Carpenter, standing a chance against the grande dame herself. —Walden Green"

The 68th Grammy Awards go down Sunday night in L.A. Here's who we think will take home the big prizes.

Why are we expecting practical advice from entertainers?

There is plenty of practical advice on the internet available, including contacting elected officials and representatives who can actually do something. Unlike previous causes she's gotten behind to raise awareness of draw attention to a niche issue, this one does not need her to cast a spotlight on it.

reminder that even if Britney has a higher Copacabana attendance record, Gaga was still the first to have multiple millions attend her show, something the "I'm So Stupid" chanteuse doesn't have to her name despite being the first Tudo Mundo performer penguin

omg various publications deadass predicting They/Them for AOTY DWAS

THIS IS NOT A DRILL

Edited by motra_gaga

#They predicted The Tortured Poets Department for AOTY last year I think

My Grammy predictions

  • AOTY: DtMF (2nd most likely: Mayhem)

  • ROTY: Luther (2nd most likely: Abracadabra)

  • SOTY: Golden (seems pretty locked tbh)

  • BNA: Leon Thomas (2nd most likely: Olivia Dean)

  • Producer of the Year: Cirkut (him winning this makes Gaga a touch more likely to nab a GF win so I'm hoping he gets this but also think he's the most likely).

  • Pop Vocal Album: Mayhem (2nd most likely: Man's Best Friend)

  • Pop Solo: Manchild (2nd most likely: The Subway)

  • Pop Duo: Golden (2nd most likely: Apt)

  • Dance album: The Skrillex one (2nd most likely: Eusexua)

  • Dance recording; Abracadabra

  • Traditional pop album: A Matter of Time (2nd most likely: Harlequin)

I think the frustrating thing (at least with how I'm predicting things) is that Gaga's 2nd in multiple categories but only two awards seem definitively within reach (Dance Recording and Pop Vocal album, and the blind ballots showed that MBF is strong competition there). Even with vote splitting being taken into account, I still think that Gaga's largest chances for a GF award this year are in ROTY. But I'm definitely going into Grammys with low expectations.

Why are OGHs stalking the base again? Loser behavior, but that's to be expected sistrens

ot: Abracadabra hit 700 million streams on Spotify today mayhem

Britney Spears is as viable as a brick as a performer in 2026. The amount of delusion is shocking. Anyone who thinks she can make a comeback or occupy such a big stage needs to seek help. mazen Even if she does it, it's going to be panned and a hard watch.

kinda want her to speak up about ICE

According to a person on Popjustice who attended this last Japan show, she mentioned how difficult things were in the US, and how its hard to pretend everything isn't falling apart, mentioned community etc., during the Edge of Glory. It seems she's just completely done with using her social media as anything but basic promotion IMO, but it would be cool to say something on there.

I still think her winning Best Trad Album for her own jazz album would be monumental for her (on a personal note). I hope it happens. Imagine her winning two grammys for two different genres in one night. VERSATILITY.

I'm not interested in battling this out but we're talking about fascism here. Any celebrity who does not speak out is either okay with it or supports it. That's my default belief. There's no "well, we know how she feels". I don't care, say it. We need this now more than ever.

It's especially odd how all of these popstars who had no problem speaking out a few short years ago are now suddenly silent when we need them the most. Will their words change things? No, but it's still important to use their voice right now.

pitchfork get AOTY wrong every single year. they have a decent track record for ROTY and SOTY though. typical for us rip

2 things about potential wins on Sunday:

  • If Abra wins ROTY and/or SOTY, it'll become the first Dance field song to win in the GF (Daft Punk's Get Lucky was in Pop Duo/Group Performance)

  • A Harlequin win would make her the most awarded woman in the Traditional Pop Vocal Album category at 3

Pitchfork predicting Gaga as well. They always switch on her like a *****.
