@Florence Belch can attest to that. He's the host of the last discography rate. I forgot who hosted the previous one before that but if they are still active and can view the archive (I think we did a rate back in 2017 iirc), he can also tell.

I don't mind a Jazz Vegas Residency in order to keep performing but without having the stress-commitment of a worldwide tour, however I do hope for a new acting project before that.

Seeing Madonna on stage with Sabrina Carpenter makes me a bit sad that she was never able to do something like that with Gaga…

Maybe I'm being naive, but I like to think that deep down, she might regret how she handled things back then and doesn't want to repeat that pattern with newer pop stars.

All of these statements are true.

MAYHEM was a flawlessly executed established pop star era.

The music was on point and she cooked. Disease and Abra are both in her top 5 best pop songs ever.

Her performance skills have low key never been better.

She can't score a US solo hit to save her life. Mostly because Female Dance Pop is dead.

EDIT: Do not stream Runway or Dead Dance. We can't support mother when she serves trash like that.

I'm still of the opinion that Madonna comes from a completely different era, back then, artists (especially female ones) often had to be a bit bitchy with each other for the press. She was the target of plenty of nasty comments herself, so I think she probably saw her own remarks as fair play, maybe even a way to spark controversy, which is something she's always done.

That said, times were different, and the way it came across felt mean. I don't think she necessarily cared about how it landed, but Gaga was clearly hurt. I'm not excusing Madonna, she could've handled it better, but context matters and in the end I think both don't really care about each other anymore. Madonna will always be Madonna and Gaga will always be Gaga, the only similarity between them is their longevity. I hope to see gaga in another 20 years with ARTPOP On a Dancefloor II

Except that is literally contradicted by the fact that it's the first time she didn't have a production credit for any of the original tracks and executive producer credit for the entirety of a studio album. The only tracks where she is credited are the interludes, which makes sense because she was in a slightly better (albeit still terrible) place by then and the interludes were all created towards the end of the album creation process.

Let's not forget that she even told us how on her birthday he told her the songs she had made don't sound Gaga enough (or something along those lines) and it made her second guess herself because she had lost confidence and was beaten down battling her nasty inner demons. Most of Chromatica's sterilized production is in fact a choice made by the producers after several iterations, despite Gaga greenlighting the final product. She didn't actively participate in the production process unlike Mayhem that followed right after and it shows.
