Have been thinking about this, too.

The girls aren't market-aware if they think a 2026 Beyoncé is dropping out of thin air on some surprise-ish.

I love our girl, but (if she wants to remain a 300k+ first week girl), pre-orders, variants, and a lengthy-ish pre-order frame is a must.

I still think May 29th could work, but should she announce even today, it would be the shortest pre-order frame she's had since beginning to play the game (with Rennie).

I trust they have the data (both Bey-specific and the market at large) to know when and how is most optimal. Maybe there's a world where a shorter pre-order frame could be to her benefit (mega, concentrated hype, clean and plentiful variant game, and big single...maybe with a mega feature). We'll see.

pre-orders and a few variants will suffice.

album sales are front loaded. pre-orders mostly happen whenever the album is first announced. everyone who isn't a massive stan waits for the album release week. keeping a pre-order window open for months on end doesn't help much, especially knowing Bey will do nothing to promote them.

she could easily drop pre-order links 2-3 weeks before an album and achieve the same 300k+ results.

20 days of preorders are more than fine. If the rollout starts, hype will be at a max within the first week anyway, lbr.

IIRC, Rennie was like 7/8 weeks (at least from BMS to album). CC was tighter, like 4/5 weeks.

I remember being so mad at how long the CC pre-order took. She signaled start of era with Texas, even announced project as Act II, but the pre-order frame took forever and only came when she finally revealed it was called CC.

I can't be convinced it was the plan and knowing about the Beyince incomplete vinyl debacle cements that stance even more.

I was obviously elated with 400k for CC, but I always feel that had she played it better, it easily could have been nearer 500k

I was recently looking at both acts' covers and marvelling at how good they are in sequence, and then looking at the empty space where a third would be like WHAT COULD IT BE??

It's interesting because the BEYINCÉ version just has her face on the back, no horse, so did she only intend to make a continuous image after that?

OR did the vinyl sleeve get printed after it was pressed? But then again it had the old name on it...

I guess it could have been printed prior to RENAISSANCE, saved, as planned and then they started the horse theme? ... anyway lol

Yvette really is something. She's been with Bey for so long, probably rakes in so much money and for what? Being completely useless when it matters, but SPRINTING to clear the "rumors" about the album release nobody was really talking about in the first place and that is probably getting announced next week anyways. She really needs to retire and Bey should hire someone that knows the current media landscape

It's obvious it's coming this year and album doesn't have to be released in May lol. She can release a single and then tease the album before giving the date afterwards.

Don't understand this move from Yvette at all.

This does seem like a weird strategy from Yvette. We know she only takes a breath if instructed to by B, so this is very intentional.

There are two scenarios:

First, the album is genuinely not coming. There have been rumours of a delay to the project due to trying to remove the contributions of a collaborator (potentially The Dream). It may be that the Met Gala was due to be the start of the promo cycle, but the delay has impacted that. She wasn't able to cancel the Met, so she's just fulfilling the commitment. In a similar way to how the Super Bowl 2013 was meant to launch new music but she changed the set list last minute.

Second, the album is coming, but B is frustrated at the leaks and wants to maintain some element of surprise. I think she squashed similar rumours about a tour being announced after the Beyonce Bowl - which obviously turned out to be what happened.
