That's Abracadabra for you! And it went Top 10 globally, more important.

I'll leave you with this though:

No one cares about those global charts.  They're irrelevant

  • A lot of you thought Britney was going to finally win her 2nd Grammy with Woman In Me but the audiobook didn't even get a nomination lmao.

  • The recent example is obvious. Showgirl was supposedly a mega-panned frontloaded flop    Here we are months later and it's still topping charts all over the world and has  the biggest solo f

  • ATRL wasn't wrong in this case though.   Everyone knew Gaga could get a hit when she relied on a collaboration. Abra couldn't go Top 10 and is now getting outstreamed by Dua's Training Seaso

Taylor is local. Rihanna is a quick singles artist. Beyoncé is local. Gaga lost her touch. Katy will never flop.

You're weird. 😆

I've been called worse by better people. *shrugs*

That Camila the RACIST stan is still hidding behind Taylor? :skull: It's bad for them huh.

the reception to please please please was pretty bad initially, like i fully remember thinking it would stunt her momentum but then it smashed :deadbanana4:

I was told that Gaga was over and that she would never get a solo hit

pretty much every time y'all like a song it bombs, the latest example is the dead dance

For one reason only.  They were right otherwise.

Funny because the album produced

8 Grammy Nominations- the most for any female artist this year

Gaga's biggest tour

one of the biggest solo female singles of the year

7 songs over 100m on the album

Biggest show for a female pop star

coachella headliner

Her most acclaimed album

none of this has to do with that one reason, but humor me

Joker 2 being a smash hit movie.

ASIB would be a huge bomb. :eatpopcorn:

fixed. :bird:

I remember literally everyone here thought Lizzo's About Damn Time would bomb and I was the only one who knew it would smash hard. :turkey:

Whenever some crazy people claim that their fave's peers are Madonna, MJ & Prince bc they collectively decided that they are. Ijbol

Me and a couple of other users were trashing Please Please Please upon release and then it smashed

It grew on me a bit but I still don't think the key change was needed

Sis…the key change is KEY. The overall song is begging and pleading for the guy to not make her look like a fool and the key change is the emphasis for that and leads up to the climax. It's perfection to me :DWAS:

When people said Ava Max would be the next big thing

i came here to post this. i remember it so vividly. :skull:

I was told Taylor Swift's downfall is imminent, many many times. ATRL has never gotten it right.

I distinctly remember Olivia Rodrigo being called a potential one hit wonder when she debuted.

which is crazy because it was obvious to me that she had a major strategy behind her with marketing, PR, endorsements, a team, etc prepared for her right out the gate

In general: ATRL is always wrong about Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga

Anything regarding Gaga always wrong and have been wrong for the last like 13 years now. Must be exhausting to always be wrong about a music artist they hate so much but can't stop streaming her music and checking every single chart just too see where she is underperforming.

Now do it with album first week sales :sabrina:

That Taylor is local, lacks any impact and is the worst performer you can find. Meanwhile, her numbers without the US surpass those of the supposed global girlies with US added, and her last tour was met with overwhelming acclaim, became the most culturally significant and highest grossing tour of at least this century and ended up getting her named POTY, an achievement no other musician ever received and that awards the most impactful person of the year on Earth.

And then you've got the stans of anyone that isn't Beyoncé trying to drag her metacritic scores when their own faves have multiple albums rated lower than the supposed "worst album ever by a popgirl" and other that are basically 1 point apart.

Oh and also the even weirder narrative that she isn't one of the greatest songwriter of our generation when she was nominated for the Songwriter Hall of Fame from the very first year she was eligible.

« A lot of you » being the voices you hear in your head ? :sabrina:

I was told many a time here on ATRL back in the day that Rihanna and even Ari would cruise past Mariah in number ones on the Hot 100 chart... and yet, here we are. Both retired and Mimi still going strong. That's life I guess.
