What do you think is the worst styling an MPG has ever received in any era? We've seen some truly iconic looks throughout pop history, but we've also seen our faves get dragged through some… choices. I'm talking questionable wigs, chaotic outfits, era-defining misfires: the kind of styling that makes you look back and go, 'Who approved this?'

 

In my mind Kylie in the Kiss Me Once era was done so dirty. Who thought giving her granny glamour meets bargain-bin Marilyn Monroe was a good idea? The styling aged her like 40 years and added absolutely nothing new. Kylie deserved better than that soft-focus retirement-home bombshell aesthetic.

Rihanna and Gaga both went for a grungy look for Rated R and BTW respectively but it was very hit or miss for me. Sometimes they ended up looking the fool during those eras

I feel like a recent contender is the TLOAG era, Taylor started wearing all these revealing outfits for the first time ever because now she's in "love," and it's trendy because Sabrina was already doing it. I don't think it fits Taylor at all; it feels like she's trying too hard. 

Xtine's Lotus hands down from the album cover + booklet art, The Voice S3 looks, performances, and pretty much all promo appearances. The only time the styling kinda worked that era was for the YB music video.

My fave Shakira in the early fijacion oral era is definitely in the nominations 

I miss sometimes a bit her "no makeup stripped look" but she was definitely havin some questionable fashion choices  back then

Both Witness and Smile eras had bizarre aesthetics. the butch look didn't suit Katy or her brand at all, and I don't even know what the idea was with that clown look

I did think she looked good with the short hair tbh (not talking about the particular styling). The problem was when she acted cringe + the short hair combination, like on Ellen for example. But she did look beautiful with the short hair.

Kiss Me Once made Kylie seem instantly uncool and undid any wow factor she did with Aphrodite in seconds

The album cover is not that bad but her obsession with goddamn leggings and skull t-shirts were such a nightmare. 

20 YO - Those fanmade album covers! Also, "JANFT" on the official cover.

Discipline - She spent the entire promo tour dressing like a Chinese security guard.

Smile - Horrid aesthetics abound.

This, but only because getting this haircut cursed her career and it's been a nosedive since. 

Not a MPG by any stretch of the imagination but Mabel's styling has been consistently terrible her entire career 

 

whatever the hell hard grammy was supposed to be. i get the idea of the fighter (hard) + pastel color (sweet like candy) but it's just so ridiculously uncool and at the same time super boring  like she could have at least gone more editorial and grunge-y 

 

idc for the sport athlete femme gym rate she had going, and to think she kept at it for 10 years
