Is this guy interested in me?

Featured Replies

So, I've been seeing this guy for about two months now, and I'm really starting to like him which, honestly, I did not see coming. I wasn't looking for a relationship at all. I was just having fun, sleeping around, enjoying my single era. Falling for someone was definitely not on the agenda.

At first, it was just a casual hookup thing: no feelings, no expectations. But then we started doing more "couple-y" stuff: movies, museums, gym sessions, dinners… and suddenly, it wasn't so casual anymore.

Things got real when he told me he had his apartment all to himself and invited me to stay for a few days. Then he asked me to be his plus-one at a friend's wedding, I met his parents over lunch, and now we're walking down the street holding hands. He takes me out for sushi, and I treat him to ice cream.

We've said all the cute things: how much we like each other, how good it feels to spend time together, even talked a bit about the future. So yeah, it really feels like he's into me.

But here's the twist: when we text, it's a different story. He's kind of distant, not very chatty. I know his past relationships weren't great (his longest one lasted nine months), and I went through a tough breakup earlier this year, so maybe we both still have some emotional bruises.

Still… I can't help thinking, maybe I'm catching real feelings this time. Like, maybe I'm actually falling in love. And that's terrifying. So now I'm wondering is he feeling the same, or is this just one of those stories that fade out before they really start?

You've met his parents and you're going to a wedding with him? I think this man likes you. Maybe he's just scared of being too full on over text and scaring you away?

The wedding already happened. It was so fun

Yeah I know he likes me but still idk he doesn't seem that stable and mature since he has told me about his personal struggles and family issues and I don't think he's that mature emotionally so…

Yeah he likes you, maybe he's being cautious for the sake of his own feelings but if you met the parents and he invited you to a wedding then he's certainly interested in you. Just don't let your insecurities come through and respect his time so you don't scare him off.

Yeah that's what I'm doing. Giving him space. So I think I'm handling it well

I don't know why is this even a question. Of course he likes you

If you want to be more serious you should talk tho.

some people aren't good communicators through text. i've been around someone who was the sweetest in person, liked me for sure. but over text, it was like pulling teeth.

I think he likes you. Some guys are genuinely just terrible at texting. Some of the nicest guys I've ever dated have just had no sense of how to carry a conversation over text :toofunny3: My own bf right now is pretty bad at texting but we've been together for 10 months now. You get used to it, and then you'll see how much they text you vs how much they text literally anyone :rip:

Actions speak louder than words. I'm the type of person who loves texting, but at the end of the day is all about the quality time you spend together, and it seems like you have a lot of that!

Cutesy texting isn't for grown-ups boo. It's literally just a simple and fast way to organize your plans. I prefer a dry and direct text over a decorated one that leaves a lot to be desired upon meeting in person.

Well he is 30 and i'm 25 so it makes sense. It's not that i'm a very text person but at this early stage it's the thing that confuse me the most about him and his intentions

There's nothing to worry about, especially if the only concern so far are the texts lol

Texting isn't really my forte either bc I tend to be super self-conscious at the beginning stages of dating someone new so I prefer to type sth cohesive and emotionally neutral but it's a completely different story when I meet them in person.. especially at their place or mine hihi

If you were texting all the time there would be nothing to talk about in person. He likes you sis :giraffe:

I am not a texter and suck at communicating over the phone. People are just better in person (which is what ACTUALLY counts). He's into you, we didn't have phones for tens of thousands of years and still had relationships. Don't judge someone, especially a great partner it seems, for being bad at texting

it definitely seems like he likes you… and honestly, it sounds like you might like him too (even if you're hesitant to admit it right now). i totally get that it's easier said than done to lean into those feelings.

if you're feeling vulnerable, maybe start by asking how he feels first. if he opens up and shares that he likes you, that may help you let some walls down and share you feel the same. if he doesn't, try not to see it as rejection, just as a sign to keep things slow and steady while protecting your peace.

I met my ex's parents and after a week he dumped me for the most ridiculous and immature thing so never trust men

I mean he has told me he likes me but the thing is if it's for something serious or not and I obviously I like him too

i was gonna say that if you have to ask then no, but maybe he's just bad at texting or has a different texting style

my partner told me that when we first started dating he thought i didn't really like him because my texts were dry and cold, when in reality i did like him, i'm just not always a very exciting texter (i lowkey hate texting and only do it out of necessity and convenience)

I kind of had a boyfriend like that. He was always distant on text and felt like a chore to text and keep in touch. Turned out he is just avoidant and wasn't a fit for me.

So you either accept it? Or have a discussion about your feelings in person :celestial6:

yeah he likes you obviously especially if you're walking down the street holding hands but at the same time i feel like he's scared especially since u mentioned he had bad relationships in the past so that makes sense

so if you really like him and you feel like he might be the right guy for u then be honest and ask him

I mean, some people are just really bad at texting (pointing at myself here). And I'm gushy af in person.

I've had people tell me they didn't feel like I was jnto it just because of the texting thing and I didn't even realise it before that.

That guy introduced you to his parents, he's into you. Best thing is to talk it out.
