Can Demi tour arenas?

Featured Replies

She did mostly theaters for her last tour but her new album is much more accessible and mainstream friendly. Can she sell out arenas this time around? Avril Lavigne is doing outdoor amphitheaters and they have the same capacity (sometimes even more) than arenas.

maybe not every show will be a complete sell out, but i think she could sell a good portion of the tickets for each date. she has some iconic hits that a lot of gen z/millennials would be keen to hear

Unfortunately, I don't think so, but I am very excited to buy tickets to this upcoming tour.

if renee rapp is touring arenas then im not sure why demi wouldn't be able to..she needs a hit from this era tho so people know she's actively dropping music.

:clack:

I was actually just thinking what kind of venues she'd be able to do… theaters with a capacity under 3k feels a bit small this time around, but arenas with capacities of 10k+ feels too big. I could maybe see her doing amphitheaters if it's a summer tour?

If it's 80-90% Disney Channel era songs, 10% her other hits (Solo, Cool For The Summer) & 2/3 current era songs, then yeah :cm:

Her Disney songs are the least successful of her discography, so who would turn up for that? :rip:

Also, those proportions/percentages make no sense haha

In NYC/LA/Toronto/Dallas sure but definitely not every city. She should do a mix of arenas and big-ish theatres a la' Feed The Beast tour.

I think she can but it's probably best if she does a joint tour with someone.

 Camilla Cabello would be perfect

If this was 2023 during the touring "boom" I'd say yes but touring and tickets have become very expensive. The touring market is also sorta oversaturated (maybe this is declining?) so I have a hard time seeing her being able to get fans to pay the prices she would need to set in order to make the tour profitable.

A collab tour could be really cool! Maybe with Camila or Tori Kelly?

Yes, she can.

She got a bunch of hits and good songs.

Y'all are so disrespectful :rip:

I adore Haim so it pains me to use them as the example but EVERYBODY is doing arenas now. You used to need a recent hit album or single or have a track record of major commercial success & star power you can fall back on. You don't even need that anymore. I don't think it'll sell Haim lvls of bad but it won't be a smash success either. Demi is a total follower (I adore her voice & she's had great material but she rly has no backbone & creatively does whatever everybody else is doing) so I don't see her bucking this trend but she's also usually painfully late to the party (Commander In Chief). So if not now, next era

I mean, I think Demi can tour smaller sized arenas with a capacity of 10K or less.

However bigger arenas like Scotiabank Arena, MSG, or TD Gardens probably no..? :doc: Unless she does some mega promotion for it...

Although she's reaching the point where she's sort of a nostalgia/throwback act for my generation, so if she did a greatest hits tour I wouldn't be surprised if it did well.

Yes, at least in the US, ALMOST everybody can... especially as someone said above, if Demi use nostalgia.

Outside the US... complicated. :duck:
