If yes, how did you figure it out? I'm trying to figure it out for myself. I'd also be curious to hear how you went about getting diagnosed properly in a manner that was professional and confident.

  • Will also add that since taking meds for ADHD a lot of things that seemed major to me that were actually minor - feel the size in which they are (minor). I find things like thoughts and emotions don't

Yes, I do.    -I kept losing things like keys and wallet frequently. -found it overwhelming to complete tasks even tho I knew I had to do them I couldn't get my self to begging them or if

  • Yes, I've been diagnosed 4 months ago, and I am currently on Concerta. Didn't mention my drug abuse history as I was afraid they will not prescribe me ****. I've been on meds for a month now, feeling

Yes, I do.

-I kept losing things like keys and wallet frequently.

-found it overwhelming to complete tasks even tho I knew I had to do them I couldn't get my self to begging them or if I would start them, I would stop half way and begging doing something else so now I have 2 things going on at the same time and I get more overwhelmed so neither gets done.
-when I read books, by the time I'm at the bottom of the page, I've already forgotten what I read at the beginning of the page.
-difficulty remembering names when meeting new people. Even within minutes after they've introduced themselves.

I went to a doctor and they do a test where they pretty much interview you and ask you standard questions and based on what you answer they will diagnose you.

I got prescribed adderall extended release 20mg which I like because it releases the drug gradually during the day rather than getting it released at once which makes you feel like your high on coke lol.

if you get on adderall your body will develop a tolerance for it. So what I do is I don't take it on the days I'm off from work. So I only use it 5 times a week.

I tried Ritalin too a few years ago when there was an adderall shortage here in the US but didn't really like it.

Yes, diagnosed. It took 4 sessions, first the doctor kinda "interviewed" me and than it was some tests of attention.

I've already tried some medications but i'm off of it.

Therapy helps, u find strategies to be more productive even with ADHD.

(maybe medication will be your key, it really depends on the person).

They will also clock it if you're too prepared for the answers they'll think you're just trying to get an adderall prescription since you can sell them for like $25 each pill and the 30 day supply only costs $10 for me. So try not to sounds like you're too eager to get on medication. 💊

Yes, I'm diagnosed, but didnt get diagnosed until age 30. But I am not on stimulants.

Yes, and I go back and forth between on medication and not. It really depends on my mental state which is not the greatest right now so I'm back on the meds again. :eli:

Yes. I only found this out because my (soon to be ex) husband saw it in me and he was previously diagnosed. I went to a psychologist and was tested for it. It's like 200 questions on a Scantron sheet :skull: my "scores" were actually higher than my husband's. I thought he seemed pretty severe until I saw that my scores were higher :skull: but I don't really know how much that all matters.

I think it's very misunderstood because it can affect you more than people realize

Yes, I've been diagnosed 4 months ago, and I am currently on Concerta. Didn't mention my drug abuse history as I was afraid they will not prescribe me ****. I've been on meds for a month now, feeling good and for once in my life I feel zero cravings to abuse substances.

Yeah I have it with my ocd lol. A combo of Zoloft and Vyvanse has really helped with both. A lot more motivated and it helps me keep the metaphorical train on the tracks ya know? Instead of spiralling into rumination etc (I have mainly mental compulsions etc with my ocd - no real physical rituals)

Will also add that since taking meds for ADHD a lot of things that seemed major to me that were actually minor - feel the size in which they are (minor). I find things like thoughts and emotions don't seem as blown up and dramatized. They don't stick to me like glue anymore

I'm on a waiting list but at uni they said I have it. It takes forever to see a specialist. I'm so curious about meds. I want them! I need them!

I'm doing OK with everything but I feel like it takes so much extra work for me, to actually get things done

what helped you with this other then Adderall? I WFH and there are some days that I complete 0 work related tasks. It makes me feel disappointed and very down on myself, but still the next day it's the same. I cannot get myself to start. Or I start leave the tab open (i have like 20 open) and scroll the web and then forget about it. :ace: i'm at my wits end.

well one thing about individuals with adhd is our brains are constantly craving  serotonin and dopamine because we are always short, so we're more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs.

Yes diagnosed last year and it explained a lot...

They started me on "Strattera" which did nothing to help. I am going to have to try again for a stimulant and hope it helps my mess.

I'm curious if they do the scoring thing everywhere? I'll post mine :lakitu:

Strattera is horrid, I was always on the verge of falling asleep plus depression.
