I wouldn't be surprised if I had it, though I've never tested for it. I'm either hyper-focused on things, or forget what I wanted to do two seconds ago because something else caught my mind and interest.

  • Will also add that since taking meds for ADHD a lot of things that seemed major to me that were actually minor - feel the size in which they are (minor). I find things like thoughts and emotions don't

  • Yes, I've been diagnosed 4 months ago, and I am currently on Concerta. Didn't mention my drug abuse history as I was afraid they will not prescribe me ****. I've been on meds for a month now, feeling

I was diagnosed two years ago after I burned out - with ADHD and sensory processing disorder. Was referred to a therapist for my anxiety/panic attacks and after about half a year she mentioned suspicions of me being on the spectrum. Then went thru an extensive diagnosis with a psychiatrist.

When I got the results I was kinda shook. I never really was aware, just thought that my normal was ''normal''.

Yes diagnosed last year and it explained a lot...

They started me on "Strattera" which did nothing to help. I am going to have to try again for a stimulant and hope it helps my mess.

This is me now. All it did was give me high BP. :deadvision:

My doctor panicked when I told him I was falling asleep at all times because of it and switched me with the quickness on stims.

I guess they were cautious about prescribing a stimulant but truthfully in my experience those are what it takes to get myself in "productive mode." What I will try to do is cut down on smoking/vaping for my heart rate which was another concern so I don't have that mitigating factor. But yeah I was just as miserable on Strattera as unmedicated just with extra sick to my stomach. Talked to a work colleague who had the same experience except now she's on antidepressants or anti-anxiety I think.

Does anyone ever write a message on this board and then suddenly become overwhelmed to finish writing it, and then you just don't post it? :rip:

I never felt any negative side effects like that(nausea/sick). Only it made me sleepy, so my doctor changed from 80mg every morning to 40mg twice a day, and I no longer got sleepy. Wish it helped me focus more though.

Please be careful before self diagnosing yourself.

I spent months of tests trying to identity autism and adhd. The results came negative for both even though the doc thought i had both at the beginning.

Many things can be mistaken for that (long time depression, anxiety, social isolation....)

We talk more about those topics now but so many people fall into the easiest road to get conclusions.

Diagnosing those things are HELL as an adult but it's necessary.

Well after reading all the replies i guess i do have it lmao

My doctor was very concerned. Switched me to vyvanse immediately. I'm still on a low dose but I feel so at calm and at peace. Not at all what I expected, but today I was able to go to ikea with my boyfriend and stay by him and look at stuff together for the whole time. Usually I'd be overstimulated and wonder off on my own.

Girl go speak to your GP, best decision I've ever made.

yes

I was diagnosed 15 years ago, when I was 13 years old. my dad was about 57 years old and he had just been diagnosed and had read a book about ADHD and it blew his f*cking mind (bless his heart cause girl… my dad is just like me and I can't believe neither him nor my doctor mother had any idea that he had it lol)

but anyway my mom asked him if he thought any of us (I'm the youngest of 5 kids) might also have it and he was like "definitely Joe" and so we got me tested and I'm pretty sure the DSM has always said something about 3 of 9 symptoms qualifies for a diagnosis of ADHD… well as it happens, I had 6 of the 9 symptoms :tornado: I was on meds for it for the rest of grade school but at the end of senior year of high school I for some reason quit adderall xr one day cause I thought I didn't need it anymore. somehow I got through undergrad not medicated for ADHD but my psych in uni thought I had bipolar actually. mess. I do not. my current psychiatrist (much better) got me retested for ADHD and I've been on vyvanse for almost 2 years now :clap3: vyvanse is without a doubt the best med I've ever been prescribed
