Imo this lyric is what makes Taylor such a genius songwriter. Nothing New is so hyper specific and is something that really only Taylor could relate to, yet she was able to write it in a way that makes it relatable to almost anyone. It's hard to believe she was only 20/21 when she wrote it.

It being cut off from the OG is a blessing in this disguise since it makes much more sense to release this type of song when Taylor is much much older and just elevates the message of the song at a stratospheric level

It's an amazing song but I wish Phoebe's grating ass wasn't on it, it works much better solo.

Stunning song, she somehow made us so perfectly understand how she felt in a situation none of us could relate to  

 

It's one of my favorites of the whole Taylor's Version era because it really added a bit of extra context to the album that we didn't have before.

the only thing i hate about this song is why the hell she cut it out of the OG RED.

Like it would be released when i was 20 years old and i would absolutely a trainwreck with the line "how can a person know everything at 18 but nothing at 22"

 

but still the song is a masterpiece and literally change my life. me and my bf stay in a narrow apartment for 5 years and we kinda getting used to it and too lazy to move to a bigger space and then Red TV release and Nothing New is literally the song that push me to move to a better apartment and make life better for us.
