Yeah, this is really one of the dark sides of fame. Wanting to be famous and remembered no matter what, and now that her music isn't doing it anymore she's appealing to her cult fans and MAGAts. Not that I care, she's an awful person and I'm having fun laughing at her.

Eh, I'm not buying it. We've been hearing a million different things about Britney from a million different "sources" since the conservatorship ended. I still think the most likely reason is she's done with her career and just wanted to make some quick cash selling her catalog. Britney has reiterated several times this year alone that she's retired and instead of just saying it, this was her showing the world that she's serious. Thank you for this. I'll never understand the people who say she got a bad deal. When you break everything down she actually got a fantastic deal.

This is actually something I've thought about as well. So many of our pop girls have at least one shitty parent, and more often than not it's the father. Beyoncé's dad, Xtina's dad, Gaga's dad… how many other women could this have happened to if they didn't have a strong support system around them?

We actually don't know if she's reached out or not, neither of them have said anything at least. Some of us think it's because Felicia is still friends with Britney's mom and she might not want to get tangled up in that whole mess. How could Britney trust someone who's in contact with one of her main abusers? EDIT: Also, as SinnerCity said above, Britney wasn't a fan of the documentaries that came out before she became free, and may hold it against Felicia for taking part in them. We really just don't know. Yeah, Britney surprisingly didn't do a whole lot of in person fan interactions during her prime, which kinda makes sense I guess with how she talks about how bad her anxiety is. I know she did a CD singing in NYC for ITZ and a few for the BOMT era, but as far as I know that's about it. There's also this random meet and greet from the Onyx Hotel Tour, so maybe she did do more that we just don't know about.

The fact that that album was such a massive success amongst all of the electropop being released was proof that people were beginning to get tired of the high octane pop music being released between 2008-2011 and were hungry for something else. By the time 2013 came around electropop had transformed into EDM and the girls who released successful albums earlier (Loud, The Fame/Monster, Femme Fatale, etc.) were either underperforming or straight up flopping (Unapologetic, Artpop, Britney Jean, etc.) while Adele achieved further record breaking success with 25.

Madonna, understandably, seems to have a lot of hang ups around getting older, which only makes sense after everything she's been through. Practically the entire world was calling her a grandma and telling her to hang it up in the 90s when she was only in her thirties. So it makes sense that once she actually started to get older it would effect her mentally and emotionally, and she wanted to still prove she was "with it" but it more often than not came across as cringe. Like, why is MADONNA trend hopping. Why is she performing with LMFAO? Why is she recording songs with grills in her mouth? Thankfully it seems that with Confessions II she's realized that she can make mature, meaningful music without coming across as "old."

Honestly, I could see this happening. The difference between Confessions I and II is that CI is very daft lyrically (still love it tho) while she actually had a lot to say with CII. Lyrically I would argue it's her most meaningful album since Ray Of Light. Plus the fact that she really hasn't done anything to embarrass herself this era (saying this with all the love in the world) unlike her past few is really gonna help her chances too. This is exactly what I was gonna say. It's like when Beyoncé performed for that dictator in the Middle East during the Renaissance era. Is it scummy? Absolutely, but nobody is turning down a deal like that. Hell, if somebody offered me millions of dollars for 20 minutes of work I'd jump on it. That's the kind of money you can retire with. Not excusing it, but I do get it.

This quote is very poignant, and it's actually similar to what I've been trying to tell a lot of Britney stans over the past few years whenever they mention "prime Britney." The Britney we all fell in love with in the beginning of her career was never real, it was an act she was forced to put on by her label. And the fact that she had to keep up the part for years on end must've been hard as hell on her because that sickeningly sweet, butter wouldn't melt in the mouth act isn't inherent in human nature. No one is that perfect. Looking back on the ITZ era makes me so sad because you could tell she was trying to break out of the mold that was created for her, but every time she would step out of line even a little bit the media would start harassing her non stop. It's no wonder she had a breakdown when the whole world was holding her to an impossible standard and trying to force her to be something she wasn't.

She specifically says her dad had her meeting 70 people, ie when he was in charge of her career. She's absolutely talking about the conservatorship years. I remember fans complaining because they bought meet and greets for Piece Of Me and they barely got any time to talk to Britney because of how many people there were, it was basically just hi, a picture, then onto the next person.

Felicia worked for her during the conservatorship years too, but she mostly did backstage stuff during the tours. I'm almost 100% sure Britney didn't do meet and greets during her prime years.

I actually agree with you. I think that's why it's mostly the newer artists doing them and you don't really see older artists doing it, unless they're forced to like Britney. Older artists at least have enough respect for their fans to realize that spending thousands of dollars for a quick two second conversation and picture is a rip off. Tho to be completely fair, some artists do make it worthwhile for their fans. Rihanna and Katy Perry for example each have some great meet and greet pictures and seem like genuinely fun people to meet.
