I'm really enjoying this album so far. I appreciate her more lyrically focused tracks, even the slower more stripped back ones on Dance Fever

Enjoying it overall, but can't name a favourite track yet

 

One of the Greats is the worst though. So much potential,

but the male vs female-lines totally ruin it for me.

They're just so... ugly? Literally making me angry

I need to live with this album for much longer to really get to the core of this album, but at the moment this feels like one of the most consistent from her discography. There is no clear ranking of these songs yet, which is fine for me as that might be a disservice to this project. The title track was a pretty strong red herring, as I unfortunately expected an all-consuming theatrical narrative concept album related to witchy folktales. In reality, it has a pervasive, imposing atmosphere like pure autumnal dread. It is quite effective.

My one notable issue is the guitar playing in the first few tracks after the singles is incredibly basic. Even though the lyrics are meant to be at the forefront, the simple strumming in a (to my ears) plain tuning does not improve or serve these tracks. Sorry!!

I'm liking this album but it's not what I expected. Gonna take a few listens for me to formulate a coherent reaction I think. 

I can't really make a ranking right now but Kraken might be the best 

I love that everyone has a different favorite and least favorite the telltale sign of a really groundbreaking album

Surprisingly, this is getting good reviews.

the album is good, my favorite song is buckle it remind me so much to the bomb, also get a grip women leave him or let him leave you 

Witch Dance is the IT girl.

I still cannot believe The Old Religion is a song that she put out and I get to hear with my own ears. It feels so quintessential and somehow so new and moving... And in an album full of absolutely insane lyrics, the most insane for me is definitely "give me something I can crush, something I can kill".

 

This song on its own already makes this an unforgettable, epic album 

I just listened to the album in full at an album preview party. HOLY ****. Did Florence just drop her best album yet? I left with goosebumps!!!! Also I won the bat fan prize omfggggg

She really freaking served with the album, I am ****** speechless

Perfume and Milk on repeat. 

 

Listened casually a couple of times and really liked it, especially Witch Dance, Buckle and above all The Old Religion

 

Florence can't deliver a bad album 🥰
