I just, don't know. I think her pregnancies may have changed her voice permanently or something.... there's something so off about her delivery for the past few singles.

It's not the same anymore at all... it sounds like she's reading off a script... it lacks confidence.

Compare this another slow song (Wild Side), or her 'classic' rap features (PIODFA/Tomorrow2), like something has legit changed.

Good luck to her and the rest of this rollout.. quite frankly, as long as she gets the #1 album I don't think she would care how this album is even received.

who wrote these bars for her do we know? maybe that's what changed

Umm this is.. ok? Why would she make this a single :dies: The bars aren't giving enough for me and she sounds a bit off on the beat lol. I'm here for more hip hop songs from her but this isn't it I fear

This is a smoove cute little joint. I think if this was coming off the back of a huge smash people would be more receptive of it, but everyone is looking for a big hit Cardi song right now. Also kinda annoying that she's blowing music video budget on a song like this

Another nice promo single but we're ready for a SMASHA mama

Also that Ken Barbie character is her real life friend right? He pretty much confirmed the "lift up fall down" line is about Ice :rip:

I'm seeing mainly positive reviews on Twitter and YouTube. But I also think whether this song is a hit or a flop, it definitely got the people talking. She's top trending basically everywhere hate it or love it.

Im starting to think some of Yall don't have rhythm or can't count cause cardi isn't off beat.

What budget? Music video has no budget.

So it's a little lazy, little bland. It's essentially a cover of the sample, so not the most exciting use of a classic song. Even imitating Jay's flow, the spoken word + some of his bars. It's giving Nicki's "Barbie Dreams" using Biggie's "Just Playing" where she made it her own while Cardi said I'm just going to rap like Jay and talk about the same things. The hype is around that copied cadence, however, and yet another beauty reel for the music video so not surprising.

But it is a nice calm vibe for once. I'll revisit this more than Outside which was a bop upon release but not much to offer now just a month later. I fear that's how the album will play.

Loving her fashion this era, the stylist has popped OFF :clap3:

The song isn't really bad and actually produced a couple clever bars… but there's absolutely no reason to replay this. It would be better received as an album track.

This being chosen to be a single is a bit jarring to me because… ? This song won't do well anywhere outside of MAYBE in the background of a GRWM reel on Insta. They need to rush release a HIT or go back and give outside actual single treatment to make it look like half a hit. Very scared for her album. Both quality and performance wise.

I've seen lots of people praising her for the song, from twitter and YouTube reactors. The people are talking, which is good.

She did her thing. :clap3:

I probably didn't word correctly but not really my point, I just mean that this song is a bomb (tho i like it) so any allocation of money, promo, music video, etc is a waste. This song is great for Cardi fans imo but the GP probably doesn't even know Cardi is about to have an album out

I like that this sounds different for her but it's not quite clicking for me yet.

I still am stuck on Like What :deadbanana2:

if the drama this era is just cardi doing these generalised subs and ken confirming who they're about…

Song is doing pretty great for a straightforward female hip hop song 👀👀👀👀
