No matter what way you slice it the girls not a singer, Nicki is which is why blending rap and singing works so well for her. Doesn't mean she's chasing a hit when she's done the same shtick more or less her entire career.

The running narrative of her career is that she makes bops but she's not taken serious as a rapper, which in turn bugs her and results in her hopping on beats like this struggling to keep up

 

And by the way, this IS getting panned all over social media with direct shots at her "bars" so it's not just on this forum

Comments like this are the exact reason Nicki has never been respected by Hip-Hop consumers. She has always been viewed as a sellout and has consistently been praised as some hip-hop legend by twinks that think The Pinkprint is a hard core hip-hop album. There's no hatred in acknowledging that Nicki is a pop-made rapper that has used the genre as a lifeboat on the charts. 
 

But I get why you're mad when Nicki's only #1 as a lead artist is a Dr. Luke pop song while Cardi has four #1s as a leading artist and none are bubblegum pop. And the Barbz can thank themselves for that since they play into Nicki's paranoid delusions that she's some musical genius when Cardi, Doja, and Meg have all outdone her in the very genre she claims is her primary expertise. If these gimmick pop songs were "better" as you say, PF2 wouldn't be getting 500k in daily streams despite it being primarily pop with 30 songs and 6 versions.

Girl I scanned this comment and it's all hyperbole. Nicki is sitting unbothered and you know it, hence why you brought her up twice because she is the epitome of success and status in this genre. 

 

Why do Cardi fans resort to typing paragraphs of nothing to deal with their insecurities. 

 

Its not Barbs fault her output is not there and that on her sophomore album after a wait of many years, is putting out subpar material.

Idk, we can clown on her for trying this kind of thing but I find it mostly interesting that she went somewhere new with her music. It shows she's breaching new territory. If people hate it then at least they're talking

Nicki is the better rapper among gay men which is why when she puts out pure hip-hop it falls flat and her music only does well when it's pop-laced. Thats why Nicki herself doesn't bother to put out pure hip-hop as singles and would prefer to have 70% of her album tracks being pop music. 
 

We're not going to talk hyperbole when all you barbs do is say "Nicki makes better music" without having the facts to substantiate it. If Nicki was so great she wouldn't struggle in areas where her peers have succeeded. 
 

IDK why you'd even mention Cardi just now putting out a sophomore album as if that's a drag when she's continued to outperform Nicki on the charts the entire time she hasn't put out IOP's follow up. I really like the direction she's heading in with this sound.  I still think she sounds a bit… slow (?) on this, like she's not sharp enough with her timing and pronunciation.

The way this response only magnifies one issue of many because the numbers you pretend exist are missing in action and even a detective wouldn't be able to help you find them. 

One thing I do like about this song is it sounds like she has her old teeth   I can't really explain it, but her voice has not sounded like this since Bodak.
