How do you organize your playlists?

Featured Replies

... and what kind of cover do you use for them? I used to curate my playlists a lot and each had a color that reflects their mood but I'm looking to shake things up a bit.

I only have a small handful of playlists since I largely shuffle when I stream music but I personally like using textless imagery and an emoji as part of the title. That's as complicated and "colorful" as I get lmao.

I have playlists for all of my favourite artists that I titled ''The (insert artist name) Sessions'' and I edited all the covers in the same way on InShot. I used to have playlists based on moods as well (party, chill, crying hours etc) but I haven't updated those in a long time tbh.

And I have a regular playlist that I update pretty much every week with new stuff. I love treating it like a little radio channel.

i have a playlist for each year of my life named after the age, just like Adele and her albums . i have a cover created for each one just something that fits the vibe

then i have a few off-branch playlists like for a slower vibe or for a party pre-game

I dont use playlists. I always just listen to an album or single but have genuinely never enjoyed using playlists. idk why.

With ITunes and then I burn them on CDs like the old days :gayhemcat:

i basically pick up songs that i hear in the wild, put them in a playlist and then when i get to about 30 songs i start a new one and number them one by one. i use cover art from one of the singles that's on there if it looks nice. i buy a lot of albums on cds and stuff and tend to listen to them as files so it's a separate thing from that, these are generally random songs that i don't have elsewhere so that i don't lose them

I only keep 1 playlist for songs safe to listen to with other people around

:clack:

I don't have any old playlists, i just make a new one everyday of what i'm enjoying at the time and listen to it when i go out.

My monthly playlists all have the same cover, which is just a picture of some stacks of cassettes and the month and year over it in text. My playlists based on moods/sounds/themes use textless images I found on Google, which all have pastel/soft colours and no recognizable people in them.

every month, when new music is released (usually friday), i put the new songs into a playlist, sometimes organize them by covers' colors and when a new month begins, i start a new playlist. i sometimes add an old song that reminds me of the new one released, i.e. the subway's outro (she's got a way) gives me shania's you've got a way, so i put it right after. i love doing that actually: viviz's hands off my heart / kylie's hand on your heart; chuu's only cry in the rain / addison's in the rain / madonna's rain / creedance's have you ever seen the rain etc.

the playlists usually have 40-60 songs. the cover is either a cool pic or the cover that was most striking that month.

Idk, i usually imagine a very specific imagery/vibe and then add 700+ songs on there. Then i just don't use them

I only ever just curate playlists for people if I'm sharing music with them. It's important to me that it flows well, though. I don't like a lot of random songs just thrown together.

By vibes or mood, for exemple, I have a playlist that it deep house and I have one that's dance/edm, etc.

but I do make seasonal playlists where I put all the songs that I like or listen currently in one playlist called summer 2025 and it's fun because I can revisit them.

Well My Everyday Playlist Is Just my fave as the cover photo but its cute asf :gaycat2:

but I also got playlists in Months, Seasons,

Seasons it's still denis for each weather, etc. winter him in a little snow outfit ive had as a dp since 2017

The Monthly ones From Jan - Dec (basically connected to my YTT here)

but they are all mixed with kpop, metal and pop! so I don't really have a playlist of just one genre except for one :rip:

I can't listen to the same genre outside of kpop for too long or else I'd get a headache :psyduck:
