Lorde - 'Virgin'
I wish she dropped the entire album at once tbh. The wait has been agonising

Lorde - 'Virgin'
I honestly preferred her to take a more experimental route but the chorus on this is TOO GOOD. Let me revise my ranking..

Wait Favourite Daughter sounds like a major bop- Lorde - 'Virgin'
My Ranking before the album comes out: 1. GRWM 2. Shapeshifter 3. Clearblue 4. Hammer 5. David 6. Current Affairs 7. Broken Glass 8. Favourite Daughter 9. Man of The Year 10. What Was That 11. If She Could See Me Now- Lorde - 'Virgin'
HOENST OPINION: Idk how I feel about the snippets. I was expecting MORE EXPERIMENTATION given how much I liked Hammer. The only songs that are giving me that vibe are GRWM, Clearblue and maybe Shapeshifter. But I'll wait till Friday to judge.- Lorde - 'Virgin'
Idk why everyone in here thinks he likes her. He was the biggest OLH up until Girl, so confusing remix last year. He literally gave MELODRAMA a 7 , PANNED SP, and talks negatively about PH—he said it aged very poorly or something along those lines. Given that he didn't like the first 2 singles I'm expecting a 6/10 or a 7/10 when he reviews it. Let's not get brave. Bitchfork is def giving this a 5-6 and bringing it down to sub 80. I have a feeling we'll be getting another Miley situation where some publications will try to be contrarian and pan it.- Lorde - "Hammer"
I really like the approach where the chorus/melodies take a backseat and there is a stronger emphasis on the production. I hope the rest of the album is more in the vein of this song.- Lorde - "Hammer"
My Ranking: 1. Hammer 2. Man of The Year 3. What Was That- Lorde - "Hammer"
I felt quite the opposite personally. MOTY took a while to get to the breakdown and the payoff was very short. It could've used an extra minute to flush things out with the production.- Lorde - "Hammer"
I might have been born again I'm ready to feel like I don't have the answers There's peace in the madness Over our heads, let it Carry me uh-uh-uh-uh, on The chorus is so mesmerising.- Lorde - "Hammer"
Please leave this thread and stop mentioning Lorde if you don't like the song. Are all Lana Del Rey stans this insufferable? OT: SOTY! Can't wait for next week! Hopefully my vinyl comes in before Friday- Lorde - "Hammer"
This is DEFINITELY the best song of the bunch. Omg why didn't she lead with THIS- Lorde - "Hammer"
So… can anyone from NZ give us a review?- Lorde - "Hammer"
AHHH. This sounds amazing . That production is everything I wanted from her- Lorde - 'Virgin'
According to who? I hope this is not true- Lorde - 'Virgin'
The beginning of the song def sounds like an opening track. IMO, this snippet alone sounds better than WWT and MOTY. Not saying they're particularly bad songs, but I didn't think they were strong enough to build momentum for the album release. WWT was a nice return to form but I was expecting a completely new sound from her. MOTY was a great track but takes a while to build up, and when it does it just ends…shouldn't have been a single at all imo. But I think it'll work better in the context of the album. This wouldn't have been an issue for me if the rollout wasn't so long. It would've been less agonising if they released the album a month earlier, or delay the lead single by a month. And then release MOTY or Hammer 2 weeks before. They could've still done those interviews and fan meetups in b/w those 2 weeks. I'm glad they teased this at the fan meetup because I was slowly tuning out and this made me hype for the album again- Lorde - 'Virgin'
How could this be hammer if the opening lines are different from what they said in the RS interview? "Sometimes I'm a woman, sometimes I'm a man" The opening here sounds like "there's a heating/hearing? of pavements miraculous/mercurial? ways" or something along like those lines- Lorde - "Man Of The Year"
You are so right and you should say it. This is a whole COMPLETELY DIFFERENT sound for her. It may not be her strongest lyrically but there is so much to dissect with the production and melodies. The industrial breakdown at the end of the track is career DEFINING- Lorde - "Man Of The Year"
This is definitely better than WWT. OMG. THIS IS WHAT I WANTED as a lead single. It would be nice if it was a tad longer, but I'm not complaining. More reason to hit the replay button.- Lorde - "Man Of The Year"
So… anyone know when this is dropping?- Lorde - "Man Of The Year"
The production on this . Oh the lyrics are about to be DEVASTATING, aren't they?- Lorde - "Man Of The Year"
Oh PARENT!- Lorde's "Ribs" on Spotify: WW #176 (-11) 1.2M, US #55 (-2) 504k
More like the Mr. Brightside of our generation. Green Light or Writer in the Dark is the "Running Up That Hill". Gosh she has so many classics- Lorde - "What Was That"
Not Ribs smashing now too. Oh mother! - Lorde - 'Virgin'
