Indie-pop singer sombr has been making some buzz over the last few weeks. He currently has two songs in the top 5 on US Spotify: "undressed" at #4 and "back to friends" at #5. Both songs also simultaneously chart in the top 15 on Global Spotify. The songs exploded on the charts after going viral on TikTok. 

 

He just released the music video for his new single "undressed".

 

 

He is only 19 years old and from New York City. Do we think he has potential to become the next MPB or is he just another faceless tiktok singer? 

 

He kinda reminds me of the male equivalent of Olivia Rodrigo tbh

Probably a career like Lorde with some mainstream hits, but I don't think he wants to be in the "MPB lane" (singing and dancing on stage, selling sex, attracting psycho stans and endless celeb dramas etc)

 he is cute and actually drops decent music so I hope so   I don't enjoy most of the English speaking singers these days but him I like.

I think he'll have a couple hits with this era and then moving forward will remain more of a cult favorite with fewer mainstream hits but a strong touring force and loyal fanbase

 he would be a better option that some of the other new male singers.out there . i am not really a fan of indie music but his songs are very pop sounding and quite catchy .
