ijbol remember when Solar Power had no CD bc of her climate activism - she said F the planet for this album, we cheered!

  • new track in 3 days.

  • I believe Melodrama remains her magnum opus, but Virgin sounds absolutely incredible. It's the Lorde we know, yet it also feels incredibly refreshing. In Hammer, she mentioned, "I might be born again,

Did not know Skip of the year was the lead single of this album tho

You just didn't come for Song Of The Year. I know you did not.

Popping in to say that sadly, this album isn't for me. I've listened at least 6 times through and I can't remember a single melody other than "what was that," and I really have no desire to return to any song.

shapeshifter's verses are cool but I hate the chorus, it sounds like a generic filler song from a 2007 pop album.

i'm glad she's getting critical acclaim again but not to ruffle feathers, but I'm seeing a decent amount of people in the lorde subreddit also express how this album isn't clicking for them. I haven't really noticed this before where there's more critical enthusiasm than there is fan enjoyment.

I hate the sample (?) in the chorus, it's so corny

something shifted. L4 is actually out. it's AOTY. critically acclaimed, a solid project, great visuals, solid spotify numbers, bold new direction, the public loves her, the scandals have been overshadowed by the album itself, we're in an alternative universe right now & so back. :flame:

:falcon:

One thing is for sure, she knows how to open and close an album. Hammer is still my #1, but David is about to be an all-timer in her discography.

love the album! she did that. What was that is a bop, but my least favorite on the album. Shapeshifter, Current Affairs, Clear Blue, If She could see me now and David are all 10/10.
Love the lyrics, her most queer album.

Do we have access to the original Melodrama and Solar Power threads? I wanna read people's reactions

Really growing on me, wasn't expecting it (Lorde is my no 1 streamed artist but could never get into solar power bar solar power the song and hold no grudge). I still think that these songs deserve a better producer lol sorry jim-e. But lyrics and melodies and vocals and the direction and the general atmosphere are doing it for me

I still love solar power

the path, stoned, mood ring, oceanic feeling, hold no grudge
