The tracklist sequence is perfect both thematically and pacing wise, I wouldn't change a thing. 

 

Hammer and David obviously work so well as opening an closing tracks. What Was That's hearbreak into the messines of seeking validation trough casual sex in Shapeshifter into "Who's gonna love me like this?".

 

The contrast and duality of gender roles of Man Of The Year and Favourite Daughter. Testing for pregnancy in Clearblue after the ecstacy in Current Affairs and then "Soap, washing him off my chest" in GRWM (lol). 

 

From counting calories and starving herself on Broken Glass to exorcicing her demons and lifting her own body weight in If She Could See Me Now.

 

She has always been and always will be an album artist!

Releasing an album under 35 minutes during pride month should be considered a hate crime

I've never seen so many people comparing this much instead of just listening to music

I keep getting songs stuck in my head and going back to the album because of it 

why is Shapeshifter making me cry

 

i just can't get enough. it's so thrilling when the singles don't stand a chance against the album tracks honestly lmao, just makes the listening experience even better for me ! 

Lorde at Glastonbury performing Shapeshifter:

Yeah I've come to the conclusion that this is one of my fav albums of all time. Easily a Top 5 for me. Congratulations Lorde 

It appeals to me a lot more than Solar Power but don't love it as much as Melodrama. "Shapeshifter" and "GRWM" are my new favourites along with the songs that were already out.

Finally had time to sit with the album and I am loving it.

I randomly mentioned Lorde in therapy a few weeks ago, and I was dicussing how we're the same age and how relatable a lot of her music has been for me since her debut. And now that I'm struggling with body issues again and obsessing over my calorie intake, she drops me this track  probably my favorite song atm
