which i think this will be one of the main points of the album and it's not even out yet.... so powerful 

i like the spontaneity of this era. i'm wondering how and when all the tracks came together, especially since i remember her posting about fabiana's debut album which i'm guessing is how they got in touch? this was just a year ago though

Brazil, I am DEVASTATED. I just realized I quickly ordered the signed *standard* LP and not the signed *gatefold* LP.

In diagrams the human body looks so tidy and aligned, but in reality every body is different! the uterus can lie in pretty much any position and angle in the pelvis, can be of different sizes, curvatures etc. The same kinda goes for any organ really.

"THE SOUNDS ARE THE SAME WHEREVER POSSIBLE" has me a tiny bit worried at least from a critic standpoint. If there is a lot of continuity in the sounds backing her vocals then reviews might say it stagnates and leaves nothing to keep attention. However!! I had this thought yesterday that what we might be getting is essentially "Fetch the Bolt Cutters" but with minimal electronic beats which kind of sounds 🔥🔥🔥

gatefold should be standard for vinyls. it's not like they only cost $20 or something. so ridiculous

I can totally see how this might sound concerning to people but I feel like she did pretty much the same thing on Pure Heroine extremely successfully. That album is made up of many of the same or similar percussion samples and synthesizer sounds as the basis of each track, but each song still does something unique none of the others do (ex. The guitar on A World Alone, the horns on 400 Lux, the four-on-the-floor rhythm of Ribs, the desolate minimalism of Royals, the darkness of Glory and Gore). It is incredibly cohesive yet thoroughly distinct, inspired, and intentional track-by-track.

 

Not to compare the new music to previous music, especially previous work from when she was a teenager, but 

I know people are saying What Was That is a return to the musical identity she crafted with Melodrama. However I have a feeling this album will end up feeling much more similar to Pure Heroine in its sonic ethos, album structure, world-building, and relationships the songs have with each other, if that makes sense. 🧡🧡🧡 I don't think there is anything too worry about, in my opinion this is actually something she has always done best

According to ATRL best album artwork is pop girl's face in the middle and album title centered somewhere on top or down and that's it
 

Album cover art has to grab your attention and this one is already iconic and different to everything else as it should
