I was impatient so I did some digging on Songfile earlier this week, found some information on 3 new songs from the album: "Frederic Drawing" "Sweet Fortune" (title track) "Delancey" All co-written by Clairo, and Leon Michels, who wrote and produced Charm with Clairo. Considering only these songs have already been registered and nothing else yet, I am curious if they will be singles. Although the album is out in 3 weeks so we'll see if he releases anything more before then.

I believe there is a lot of value in an album being a guided and intentional experience front to back, so sequencing is something that's important to me when it comes to the way I consume music, it can completely change the way particular moments in particular songs resonate. I am also an avid reader though so appreciation of a great structure is in my blood lol.

Since its original release I have always thought the sequencing of this album was really odd - I don't usually like to mess with whatever vision the artist had when it comes to that stuff and rather prefer to just sit with the album as is until I can better understand why certain decisions were made. But I still think the sequencing of Eusexua is horrid and confusing so I like to listen to it in a playlist sequenced like this: 1. Keep It Hold It 2. Girl Feels Good 3. Sticky 4. Drums of Death 5. Eusexua 6. Room of Fools 7. Perfect Stranger 8. Got to Feel 9. Striptease 10. 24 Hour Dog 11. Lonely But Exciting Road Perhaps looks weird typed out but I connect to the emotional/energetic highs and lows of these songs much more effectively this way. Follows a bit of a narrative too. I would recommend people to listen in this order if you please!

Hm wow I am so excited for this album and came on here to see what the folks were saying about it, I am surprised at the good number of people who aren't feeling the singles! As a longtime Flo fan honestly Dance Fever didn't do it for me and is easily my least favorite from them. I can get really into certain moments on that album when I am in the right mood but in my opinion it is definitely the least interesting thing she has done. This album so far truly feels like it is going to be the quintessential F+TM record in the future. While the singles aren't necessarily giving anything new for her at all, in my opinion each song we have heard from Everybody Scream so far is a true mastery of something she has previously done not *as* effectively which makes that okay to me. She's mentioned in interviews, and in the lyrics of One of the Greats, that she is never truly satisfied with an album once it is finished but based on the singles this album feels like the one she has been trying to make her entire career. I have such high hopes, pun intended, for this one and I really hope the rest of the album is as amazing as the 3 tracks we have heard. Curious what the reception will be once we've heard the whole thing regardless I need to hear the title track in an arena.

I just want to say I love this girl very much and she is such a refreshing personality to have within culture right now. I feel awful for misunderstanding her and not taking her seriously for so long, she is truly the real deal and such a ray of light and so authentic and smart and human. She actually reminds me of Dolly in a lot of ways when it comes to how she chooses to express herself in interviews etc.

I can totally see how this might sound concerning to people but I feel like she did pretty much the same thing on Pure Heroine extremely successfully. That album is made up of many of the same or similar percussion samples and synthesizer sounds as the basis of each track, but each song still does something unique none of the others do (ex. The guitar on A World Alone, the horns on 400 Lux, the four-on-the-floor rhythm of Ribs, the desolate minimalism of Royals, the darkness of Glory and Gore). It is incredibly cohesive yet thoroughly distinct, inspired, and intentional track-by-track. Not to compare the new music to previous music, especially previous work from when she was a teenager, but I know people are saying What Was That is a return to the musical identity she crafted with Melodrama. However I have a feeling this album will end up feeling much more similar to Pure Heroine in its sonic ethos, album structure, world-building, and relationships the songs have with each other, if that makes sense. 🧡🧡🧡 I don't think there is anything too worry about, in my opinion this is actually something she has always done best

Very excited for this, wasn’t a fan of Laurel Hell at all, but iirc in an interview last year she said that the next thing she makes will be different than BTC and LH, so I’m perched to hear what she’ll do next. Would loveeee to hear her experiment with the folkier side of things, Joni-esque almost. Although that album cover is hideous but that’s nothing new for her 😭 she’s like Fiona in that regard
