  1. Uh! Sounds great actually? And the most left-field she's ever been. I'm surprised.
  2. A classic album. Its influence, impact and legacy keep growing, a quintessential POP bible. And doing that with such an intimate, subtle, dreamlike work... Lighting in a bottle! Gonna re-listen soon.
  3. Wouldnt that be Dua's debut? Edit. Wait, I'm checking now on kworb and Dua's daily streams data are all inflated, what is this mess? Why is Dua Lipa - Turnê Radical Optimism Brasil listed as the #7 most streamed album of all time? https://kworb.net/spotify/albums.html Also, why is Dua Lipa (album) in top 10 of the Spotify top weekly albums without having a single track in top200? A case for the FBI me thinks. Thread worthy, I'll think about It.
  4. fagsil does not deserve that spot, come on. I like most of the album, but it's like... a 3. Novelty privilege. Also I'm a Billie stan, but, despite having some career highlights, as a body of work I find HMHAS a bit overrated. 21 is too low! Better than many albums above It. Meanwhile Lorde may not be in the "MPG" race anymore (untill L5 smashes hard!), but I'd like to point out that Melodrama sits comfortably at 3.76 and would be #1 in this list. Pure Heroine has 3.65.
  5. Are you gonna bottom after? If that's the case, you should avoid fried food.
  6. Yeah sure, a 23 years old teenager making her third consecutive album about young love and heartbreak. I like the songs, but come on. I like that she's politically outspoken, but what you write about in your work is also political (most importantly for an artist, I'd say). I'm not saying she should directly touch political themes, but I'd like to see her writing about ANYTHING else. Guts had a little more going on in that direction.

  8. I swear, I think that only stans care about something like "total sales", empty figures made by greedy men mixing oranges and apples. No link to reality left. Obsession with female anglocentric artists and their bank accounts seems more and more sinister to me as the years go by, it's like seeing children playing with dolls, though one would think it'sactually little soldiers given the savagery and the ache to triumph at all costs. Burn Billboard, IFPI, chartmasters & all their friends to the ground. Anyway, /OT.
  9. Disagree, hrjox97. Common case of underperformance it is.
  10. I think ATRL's recent obsession with Xtina is foreshadowing her resurgeance. Nowadays stan culture "bubble" (ATRL, popheads, X...) = GP, as much as we like to pretend otherwise. We talkin thousand and thousand of people, it's not like it's a niche interest anymore. No one engages with pop culture as much as we do, and we do it actively! Labels don't even need to shove anything down our throats. Let's see.
  11. Where is my husband is basically Ain't no other man 2.0. Italian icon Mahmood has a tattoo with lyrics from a Stripped B-side.
  12. Thanks OP, it was a captivating read. Nowadays she's more of a punching ball here and it's so refreshing to put aside recurrent streams + that obnoxious troll and actually talk about her art. As a casual listener, this is the aestetich I identified her with. Got into stan culture only from 2017 on, but I loved Candyman as a child (and Beautiful). Then, becoming a pop student, I listened to Genie, Ain't No Other man, Hurt and saw the Stripped mvs. Such bangers, at her peak she seems such a cool popstar! She was really doing something peculiar and her work also resonates a lot with what's RAYE is doing right now. Looking forward to dig into B2B, Stripped and Bionic in full.
