I've thought this for a while but my recent relisten only solidified my opinion that Do What U Want's current absence on ARTPOP is not at all a hinderence to its quality. You would see so many stans bemoan this great track (which it is, absolutely!) being disappeared but look at that portion of the album and you have the fantastic should-have-been-a-single Manicure, which I'd argue is far better than DWUW and the title track, another underrated standout. The reality is if I never knew DWUW existed, I wouldn't think in the slightest that anything was missing here. The quality moves write along, effortlessly filling the gap. That's not even to mention the album as a whole and all the other highlights, like Sexxx Dreams, Fashion!, Mary Jane Holland etc. All this to say that I personally don't miss that track at all. It would be nice to have it—in an alternate reality without its baggage—but it's not a devastating loss. In fact, the album may be even better without that dark cloud hanging over it.

DWUW is Top 5 Gaga tracks and by far the best Artpop song so I have to disagree 

 

she should re-record it with The Weeknd

Its the best song on the album. Im glad I still own the cd. ARTPOP isn't the same without it.

Looking at its Spotify daily streams it could use DWUW

It's a great song and one of the best on a very uneven album (that I will always love and adore). 
 

Obviously I wish she collaborated with someone else (Usher would've decorated), but the song itself is def a high point on ARTPOP.

It's a shame the song is tainted by the feature but it was definitely a spark of inspiration for her and a top 3 on the album.

I would have to agree. They should have kept Venus as a single as was the original plan.

True, the liddos hate to hear it but there are so many other songs better than dwuw.

it should have never been changed to a collab last minute either way. either keep it solo and let it retain its original meaning or vault it for another project. 

I think "DWUW" is one of the best songs on ARTPOP, but it never needed R. Kelly. It would've been stronger as a solo track, and I think she only added him as a gimmick to seem taboo. However, I don't think it's needed on ARTPOP overall. It doesn't really encapsulate the sound of the album. It's definitely more radio-friendly — chasing the trendy R&B-influenced pop sound of the time — while the rest of the album leans more heavily into EDM with big drops.

DWUW was the biggest fan favorite at the start, don't try to change history
