Britney - Hold It Against Me Appreciation Thread

Featured Replies

this is obviously a bop, but also i like that "if i said i want yr body now would you hold it against me" is the cheapest of cheap pick up lines, always makes me laugh to hear it in a britney song

Her delivery on the last chorus is immaculate. The urgency in her voice is :jonny:

Still a lil pressed they never added this to the Piece of Me shows. Wouldve been great in the neon section and I'll take this over I love Rock n Roll any day of the week

the way this was my first Britney era as a stan… i was so ******* GAGGED at the video . i used to try and do the dance in my kitchen :jonnycat: the video really gave so much drama and is so artistic

An absolute CLASSIC :jonny: The last chorus goes so hard

Its streaming numbers should be way higher, the song is so good

The production is absolutely insane

There's also something very kvnty about delivering such a cheesy pick-up line in totally serious deadpan sex kitten voice

love it. not a common opinion but it's much better than till the world ends.

Knowing that Kesha wrote TTWE it pains me to say that it's not my fav on the album nor it is my fav FF single.

HIAM is the best from the album and may be my fav of post 2009 Britney singles

Kesha kept the best for her I fear

Amazing song, her best single from the 10's. That chorus is heavenly.

Wrong decade, whoops

I saw the vision from day 1. The last chorus is so explosive and HITS you on the right spot. :jonny5:

Also underrated album. Seal It With a Kiss and Inside Out >>>>>>>>>>

Spoiler

The only thing that bothers me to this day is the editing of the dance scene during the last chorus, but given the circumstances of the era I get it.

In her top 10 dont @ me

I love the melancholy vibes of the song

Debuting with 400K+ sales, becoming her first radio top 5 - it's ashamed it's so overshadowed now

Cuz you feel like paradise and I need a vacation tonight...

A near-perfect pop song ruined by diabolical vocal engineering. Bonnie McKee's demo >>>

I kind of wish the lyric had been 'you feel like paradise and I've waited for all of my life' instead, more dramatic

Phenomenal song, one of her best singles AND it holds up extremely well today. I can barely listen to most of FF these days because it sounds so dated but this is a forever BOP :WAP:

It's far more unique and BRITNEY-esque than Till the World Ends, which you can tell is a Kesha leftover. It's one of the weakest from Femme Fatale, if we're being blunt.

Hold It Against Me is a masterpiece in comparison.

It was the first Britney release I experienced in real time. Such a reset :jonnycat:

I became too obsessed with the live performances and the dance
