I keep telling yall Ciara isn't an artist. So stop expecting that.. she is a performer. She got lucky with the success she had "Goodies" and "The Evolution" but those weren't her doing. 
 

Now she has power to do things her own way and loo at  the recent album cover-tomboy sheek- we've seen all this ALREADY! 
 

Paint It Black is one of her highest streams songs and that wasn't even a single… this shows Ciara can be successful if she experimented! But she wants to keep doing all the same! She's not creative.. she doesn't think outside the box. She wants to continuously prove she still able to do what she did 20 years ago.. but can't prove how much she's evolved since then. 
 

And the album title "CiCi" shows exactly where her head space is at. "I'm still that girl from the ATL" and OK we get that. But did you ever find out who you were past that? 

Ciara is definitely an artist but she needs better direction. She has so much potential but she's not consistent. It's like she never uses the right tools at the right time.

the execution is never consistent 

the quality is never consistent 

 

but she for sure has great moments. 

I wish she was better at story telling and world building…. give us an albun with a clear theme and direction 

 

that last part is so true tho. She's been doing this "back to my roots" thing since basic instinct. That was her first attempt after everybody said she went Hollywood and Keri snatched her spot 

 

It's so laughable "the labor of love" she apparently put into this album as she claims. It shows she has no creative literacy.

Absolutely maddening. I don't know what her goal or anything is at this point. It's just throwing things against the wall and seeing what sticks or what doesn't. Just out of creative juices/Beauty Marks LLC money

Absolutely. None of those songs worked aside from How We Roll and the Lil Baby song. She needs to really find her sound. No consistency

That essay and hoopla about this album and anticipation like we already don't have 75% of the album 😒. I just rolled my eyes so hard........

 

I would have been happier with another 4-5 song EP, tbh

 

or at least 10 new additional tracks on this album

It's true.....she only talks about music for like a minute, then spends most of the interview on her personal life/ non music things...

 

She really needs to be more strategic with how she handles interviews and promotion smh

Why didn't she add "Da Girls" "Jump" & "better things" which are far stronger tracks than anything on the ep?

Honestly, Ciara should really be done with music. She hasn't had a stable album promo run, consistent sound or era continuity since "CIARA", and that was 2013- and SHE decided to ruin her own comeback by getting pregnant by the only producer who understood where she needed to go to re-emerge! Even though "BEAUTY MARKS" was a great medium of what she needs and what she wants, her brand has shifted to the model wife and super mom. 
 

NOBODY is looking for a full fledged album from CIARA. There are so many intricate reasons as to why her career has been in complete ruin since 2009, but one of the main issues is she, herself. It's unfortunate, because she has the potential to be one of the worlds top performers, though her stage presence has been lackluster the past few years, filled with heavy breathing, half axx crunk routines and undeveloped vocal maturity, but it is what it is. 
 

All of her chart triumphs and relevancy victories are tied to her singles, that's where her focus should since shes still continuing music. Some stand alone singles, occasional televised performances and touring every couple years should be all her offerings consist of. She's continuing to waste money, time and untapped potential. The more time goes on, the more I agree with the label executive saying her music is worth and anything and relinquishing her masters. 
 

I used to be a die hard STAN, even defending "JACKIE" back in the day with my whole heart. It's unfortunate to see where she is now in her music career when her time could be devoted to acting, modeling, dance programs & scholarships, radio, hosting- anything else, and soar. She and her team are batsh|t crazy for not capitalizing off 'Ciara's prayer' and milking it for everything she could. Ppl love her positive personality more than her actual music, that should tell her to move on.

She barely even dances in her videos anymore, just hip winds and that Michael Jackson foot work mess.
 

Her not having worked with Sean Bankhead again blows my mind b/c he for sure got Normani and Victoria eating from her plate…. and eating her up.

Unfortunately today's artist thrive off a bit of mess. You need a storyline and the Future thing was her story line. The shedding of that relationship and finding new love should have been the concept for the album after the break up. That's all ppl love to talk about with her and she barely touches on it.

This was her biggest fumble… Beyonce was about to release Lemonade and Rihanna with ANTI. The GP would've ate up an urban heavy "**** Future" album 

 

But instead she named the album after her mom and then posed shirtless on the cover like a suburban Abercrombie model 

 

 I remember ppl being like "Who is Jackie?"

She's just so corny. I hate to admit it but she's truly never been "cool" all to keep up with this boring nice girl image
