This needs to be her last album and era.

She's lasted 21 years, that's longer than most can say. There's been some innovative highs, but the constant lows have tarnished her brand beyond repair. There are artists, new & old, that would love to have the opportunities she's gotten, while she's been half assing for the last decade.

Bow out with a bad axx House of Blues tour & put that time and effort to other projects. It's the most sensible thing to do at this stage, because she's not going to get any better!

Agreed and I have a feeling it will be (at least for a really long time) and I'm so ok with that

  • I been here since the old days so I always wonder if people even truly know Ciara's story around the time of that album cover and the Fantasy Ride era all together.    So this goes to say, t

  • Video shot and directed by Diane Martell who did Ride, Promise, love sex magic and like a boy! And she said there's a lot of dancing and it's the big sister to ride and promise.

  • I never understood why they went with this cover and never added Go Girl on the album... Because the single artwork was pretty similar, and the song and the video were fire !

237 plays for the week that is abysmal for how long this song has been out on radio. What is her team doing? the album is nearly a month away. No hype no nothing. she needs to be at at least 500 plays to even have a chance at charting.

NOT trying to impose retirement on her :deadbanana4: Y'all are so ******* weird

First of all, the constant lows have not tarnished her brand because no one knows they exist outside of her tiny fanbase and some sections of Twitter. They do not matter.

Secondly, Ciara is not taking away any new artist's opportunities. She is independent, so she isn't wasting any label's budget and resources that could have gone to someone else. She's also not shopping for tracks that other people are also bidding on, since she's making her own songs from scratch or buying beats that no one else wants. It's not like she's out here Rihanna-ing other people's potential smashes and and lets them rot. And most of the promotional slots she gets are due to her status and legacy and would not be given to a new artist anyway. She's not occupying anyone's spot. She's standing on her own spot.

And the craziest thing about this excessive negativity towards Ciara is that y'all keep blaming her for doing too little, while y'all ain't doing **** either :deadbanana2: Didn't that last album sell 9 copies first week? I am absolutely shocked that she even bothered to scramble together the resources to make 15 more videos, constantly release singles and is even gearing up to release another album after that disaster.

The album including the EP songs is the only sensible gripe to have towards this rollout but like... she paid for those songs (plus more that were left on the cutting room floor) out of her own pocket and got no return. I am not sure she can fund the necessary fees, compensations and studio time to record an entirely new set of songs. I get that it's a bummer but that's the way it is. I'm not saying you owe her support, money and dedication over subpar music and uneventful releases but the vitriol is so unnecessary. Just accept her new reality and demote to a more casual fan or check out.

I'm sure there's grass outside your plié wood cottage, please go touch it. Do you and those who agree with you believe there's still hope in what's left of Ciara's career, go play in her comment section. She's averaging less than 300 plays on her new music that's proceeding the new album, she'll be lucky to even chart.

Tacking on the highest charting songs from the EP is not going to help when ppl don't care about the EP or the album, there's no sensible logic in this. We're seeing in real time how this was a horrible idea. It's not about affording fees & studio time, when she's put out nearly 20 songs since her last album. If the budget was the issue, get your axx on stage and actually perform on a consistent bases, promote your actual music and not your marriage and lifestyle. Hoping on Instagram and X to tell fans to run up the streams, while your at home, isn't going to sustain for 3-6 months at a time.

It's as if you believe that there's going to be some kind of great renaissance in her career, and there's not. She's over. She's cooked. At this stage in her career, it's no one else fault but her own.  She's spent the last decade purposely going against the grain, expecting the success of her first 2 albums. Her declining sales is not because ppl don't support her, but she chooses not to listen to the supporters. It would take a miracle to get her back on track, and she'd go against said miracle. She literally f—ked the last miracle and had a baby. You're just as delusional as she is.

I literally don't. That's my whole point :skull: Ciara has already had a long career with many comebacks and it's beyond clear the well has run dry, both financially and creatively. She doesn't have the drive to make it as an independent artist so she is coasting. Everyone is free to express their frustration on that, but it's reached a level of negativity that is unreasonable.

The reality of the situation is that Ciara  -like you said in your own post- has released 20 songs since her last album and they get 300 streams each. Most tracks on the last album also get 300 streams each. She's done videos, she's done performances, she's done interviews, she's done social media trends, she's toured, she's tried many different sounds and collaborators and yet she's seen little to no return. I don't see why anyone assumes that she has the funds, the clout or the incentive to do more aggressive promotion or pay for 9 months worth of studio sessions to give a fresh tracklist. Like I said, I am very surprised an album is even on the horizon.

Again, no one has to be grateful or hyped for these crumbs. But the extent of negativity to actually wish she would retire is too much. And that's actually one of the sensible posts, I don't know what I'd find if I had any interest in reading the other one's ramblings :deadbanana:

the meltdown in here???? just accept that she's past her prime, her music is not likely to chart unless she's lucky to go viral again. it's the same cycle with EVERY artist out there. just be grateful that we still has new music and somewhat of a successful song with each era - that's more than most people can say.

Then you're reverberating the same information with the hopes that we'll all join hands together and run off in a field of roses, while still missing the point. No one is at the point of sugar coating their opinions, deal with it!

Girl shut up. We keep it real around here unlike the deluded Twitter fans who take the bare minimum from her and accept mediocrity (it's why they are gonna continue to get that). I barely see you posting on here anyway.

That's the only one I know she's dropped like a week or two ago, with Latto and Jazze Pha (for some reason)
