Ciara - "Ecstasy"

Featured Replies

I could definitely see Ciara working with the weekend and I recently thought about her and Anderson Pak.

i remember some years ago when Ciara was signed to Warner (before leaving after they dissed level up) there were rumors of a song with Bruno mars. Don't know how true it was but I think that could be a collab for her.

I want to see her take an album and era seriously again, if she insists on continuing making albums. These half baked ideas have been going since "Fantasy Ride", so there's no logical excuse besides her being the problem all along!

First thing first, she needs a real team! Complaining about it being expensive to produce a completely new album as an indie artist sounds like "we gaged it wouldn't have made since to spend money on an all new album when we have songs and videos ppl haven't heard of". She needs a team that has the same vision of putting her career back on track, in more avenues than simply music.

The side projects need the same care and attention as the music, because she's a brand. Music may be the forefront, but she has promising potential elsewhere. Anyone who cannot understand this and shares the same stagnate mindset as Ci, needs to be fired.

There needs to be a distribution deal or a major/stable label partnership. Ciara needs her creative freedom supervised or stripped and she needs a helping hand promoting her music. This girl can't be trusted to promote her own endeavors, which is a direct contradiction of being an independent artist. She needs all the help she can get in bringing her music to life and serving it.

She has to change her stage routines and wardrobe. She's been rocking the "Got Me Good" wig for 13 years, even to her own wedding. Coupled with the tired axx Jackson Family 2 pieces, still pushing the Tom-Boy look since 2006. She's a beautiful woman that's model size, surely there's a stylist that can pull anything besides 2 pieces with chains, belts, loops and sneakers.

There's also needs to be some time getting her in shape for live performances. It's underwhelming seeing her dance, noticeably winded at that, and sing in a deep, husky, withering voice. She wasn't always this hit or miss on stage. A Ciara live performance used to be what sealed the deal for most ppl. Spend some weeks or months training her voice, lungs and body, then start working on rehearsals.

Growth & Maturity needs to show in her music, vocally & lyrically. Ciara's voice has changed & settled, but her lyrics need to reflect that, as well as her life. It's unfortunate that she knows what she needs to do, but refuses, however, that maybe tied into industry trauma. She needs to not only just rediscover herself, but allow herself to grow past 'crunk & b', feel good pop and the same ol' structure of the sexy songs.

I don't mind her still trying to break into the pop atmosphere, but I need something edgier, darker and experimental, yet expressive.

PAINT IT BLACK

This is what her fans have been calling for, now for a decade. It doesn't make sense to play in ppl's faces and not tap in this more.

HAUNTED, Beyoncé

Another pop infusion lane she needs to tap into. She has an amazing body, a song like this could definitely show off that she can serve sexy with more than just rehashing "Promise".

DIE FOR YOU, The Weeknd

I feel as though she's dabbled into sounds like this on "CIARA", but I want her to go fully into something along these lines. Listening to how The Weeknd followed his strengths, vocally, while still constantly evolving is something she needs to take notes from.

I think these girls perfectly captured what should've been a natural progression from "CIARA" to the next project, NOT "Jackie". The sound of their "Ungodly Hour" is a noble companion, sound wise, to what Mike Will Made it, Future and SOUNDZ were trying to craft for her to build upon. The lyrics of these two gems also are the soundtrack of what she was going through, would've perfectly aligned with what the general public and fans were looking for.

I know there's still fans who feed off of sensual songs, but I want her to get far away from continuing to recreate the moments centered around "Promise" & "Body Party". To me, it cheapens the original song when the new song doesn't hold up to unrealistic expectations. She's created some amazing sex songs that she could build upon musically, like this masterpiece!

BACKSEAT, Ciara

For me, personally, this song was better than BP! It's plays upon her (God awful) Crunk n B, while creating a timeless spark that she shouldn't have abandoned.

ROPE BURN, Janet Jackson

spacer.png

I think she needs to take a swing at something like "Rope Burn" and dive into a different world of sexy. Do away with the soccer mom image for a minute and give a glimpse of a new soulful pallet! Honestly, she needs a "The Velvet Rope" that taps into her mind, body, hate, ridicule, happiness, joy and musical imagination.

LIGHTS ON, Normani

Though Normani & Victoria Monét are definitely students of early Ciara, I think this song shows what the students can do for the teacher that is desperately in need of being relatable to this new generation of streamers. It's her most recognizable vibe, but it's modern. Something like this could pull her from the trenches of regular ATL standards when crafting a sexy gem.

She definitely needs to have some colorful, vibrant records to capture her happiness, but nothing like what she's been eager to release.

FAVORITES, Chloë & Anderson Paak.

AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM, Beyoncé

She has to find new sounds to incorporate what's happening in music production now, while still maintaining authenticity, and the ppl are over "Jump", "Got Me Good", "That's How I'm Feeling" type of songs. She's over played her hand by continuing this sound every couple of years since her debut.

perfectly said.... no notes

this is how i've been feeling for the past decade

I honestly believe it is fine for her to lead eras with songs like; Ecstasy, Body Party, Greatest Love etc. This is where she usually shines - She always fumbles the follow-up once she gets that one hit.

Like how do we go from Level Up to Dose? (When Freak Me is right there).

But then again when she does a perfect follow-up it sometimes also flops (Dance like were making love).

Did yall heard that remix she now posting of Ecstasy 💀💀💀💀💀  why does she insist of pitching up her voice? I've said it many times it doesn't do her voice justice 😭😭😭😭 please keep that in the drafts

Honestly, I'm not a fan of how she constantly ties "social media challenges" to her songs. It makes the whole release feel more like a gimmick than a genuine artistic moment. It's starts to become lame and corny and lose the plot. Instead of relying on trends, how about showcasing the song's power through a REAL, live performance? That's where the true promo and impact

Ecstasy is up there as one of her best songs. People are so hard on her, but as a long time fan I know there's always a song every year or so that I'll click with. Been singing ecstasy in the car and it's such a ******* jam. There's more important things than chart positions, views and streams or promotion. I'm just enjoying the music which is what matters. Ciara is a gift to RnB.

As Ace said everything she does now is tied to a "challenge" and lazy little TikTok videos of her sticking her tongue out and playing around in her house. This is why her releases feel so scattered, unorganized and uninspired. Even if her videos go viral they don't bring justice to the songs success because people don't take her seriously enough to want to stream or purchase her music for this reason.

Her interviews she sounds like a scripted robot repeating the same things over and over. The Keke interview was a breakthrough though. All thanks to Keke for asking refreshing new questions. Pushing her to speak up. it's wild with all the things she's been through she doesn't use it as a tool to bring attention to her journey. A documentary on BET or Hulu would do a little justice for her.

The damage is already done for me. It's a NO BRAINER that if you're planning to release a new album you shouldn't include songs that have already been heard for 2+ years. She's modified the tracklist but we still don't know if she's including these old EP songs still. If she does include all new songs though I MAY want to purchase the album. If Run it Up or any of the flops she's released are included im NOT buying her album.

Ecstasy was such a breath of fresh air. It was the perfect LEAD song. I was really getting excited and then boom 💥

Also she has the AUDACITY to ask for receipts of purchase for the pre order of her new album. Girl don't pmo fr!

Meanwhile people are coming out while 20+ song albums and double albums......we did not wait for 6 years for reheated nachos that you didn't even bother to promote ugh....

What could she even do to promote at this point? Where could she perform?

im surprised she didn't have a performance booked for the AMAS

There's so much she can do within her control! She's independent and owns her masters so she literally has all the control. Other artists wish they had the control and independence Ciara has and it's pitiful Ciara doesn't use it to her advantage.

1. She can create visuals, a story or a documentary for the album. Make a series of videos that lead up the album release that way a group of people become invested. Start small and work your way up to something big.

2. She can rent out a studio and create a "live" performance visual of Ecstasy (with live band background dancers) and post it on her YouTube/vevo. Maybe also shoot up and coming singles as well and do a live performance rendition series of all the new singles/songs.

3. Do q&a with fans for fan engagement on Twitter/X every week. Talk and engage to different fans. She always talks to the same three stans. Retweet, like and repost videos or tweets etc so the fans feel seen by her

4. Get on live with TikTok or Instagram and encourage the fans directly to pre order the album. Talk to the fans and have a good time but also encourage fans to purchase the music.

5. Do some kind of endorsement/album bundle to increase sales.

6.  Have a streaming party with fans (she did this with the EP, but she didn't promote it well so it was kinda a flop).

There are so many ways you can go on and promote your music and directly engage to get sales. She just creatively bankrupt and trapped in a box.

This is why I HATE that she is independent. There's so much you can do creatively when you have full control, unique visuals, innovative rollouts, engaging content, real connection with fans, but she does none of it. Either there's no budget, no real planning, or absolutely no creative direction. And when something does finally come out, it feels thrown together, unorganized, and uninspired.

Being independent should be empowering, it should be a space for artistic freedom and smart, strategic moves. But instead, it feels like she's just coasting, letting opportunities slip through the cracks. There's no team, no structure, and clearly no vision beyond just dropping a song here and there. It's frustrating to see all that potential go to waste when other indie artists are out here doing so much with less.

ATP she is a legacy artist to me, i will just enjoy the old songs.
