Are you insecure about your body?

Featured Replies

And why is that?

I've always struggle with my weight (too thin) and sometimes I gain a bit of weight and feel great, but after a while I lose that weight again lol Even though I made my peace with it, there's moments were I still struggle with those insecurities when I go out to the street :gaycat6:

What about you sis? :xtinass:

yes, and it's scaring me because I'm starting to eat a little less. Like, I know it's wrong, but I've been insecure about my body for so long I just can't help it

I'm not happy with it but i'm also not mad at it. And i don't struggle with judgement or whatever so everything it's just... there

:clack:

When I compare myself to others, yes.

But then I realize I have a functional body and that's enough. I just need to take care of it.

Sure. But my personality and social skills aren't much better so even if I did have a rocking body, the guys still wouldn't want me either way. So I just let it be.

I deal with a bit of body dysmorphia when I look back at old pictures of me. Fitness, and particularly aspirations for competing in bodybuilding, was my main hobby back in the 2010s. Then I got a very serious disc herniation that has impacted me mentally and physically ever since. To say I mourn for the future I was aspiring towards (at least in regards to that hobby) would be a bit dramatic, but I have. I am still working towards rebuilding, but that disc herniation felt like a catalyst for me - I had two more very serious injuries after that. It feels like whenever I make progress to get to where I was, something happens that halts that progress. Thankfully, the last year or so has been pretty good - but now I am afraid to train hard.

I was for most part of my life, then I decided I needed to stop complaining and do something about it, so I started working out some years ago and it was the best thing I could've done, now I finally feel good on my own skin.

Yes very much so, but lowkey it's growing on me (like a rash)

Not really, I know it probably sounds insufferable/annoying to say but I'm really satisfied with the way I look and I'm happy I've reached this point

Yes, unfortunately I've always had body image issues... even when I was really good about working out and taking care of myself... I never felt adequate enough and so my 20s were spent with me hating my body.

I still have a lot of body insecurity, especially bc I gained 60lbs between ages 27-31... I'm 32 now and last year I finally started taking care of myself again. I'm down 30lbs from September 2024 to now, but I still have 30lbs to go, I want to fit into my old clothes, but also want to feel and look healthy. I start the gym in March with a personal trainer so I really hope that'll give me the boost of confidence I need.

I'll also add that being LGBT this topic is really hard. Bc a lot of gay men workout, and also want a man who works out... there's nothing wrong with that, but sometimes it seems impossible to meet beauty standards in gay dating/culture. However, having said that... I have also found that some guys really do appreciate a thicker body... mostly guys who have been thin all their lives. I feel valued when someone is really into me, despite my insecurities.

Yes I used to be really thin now I'm bordering 175 pounds at 5'4 :rip:

Not really but it kind of depends on how I'm feeling everyday. In general I do like my body, I'm a woman and I'm pretty slim, I rarely get insecure about it - it happens when I'm wearing a bikini sometimes.

When I was younger I felt a bit weird next to my friends because they are all petite, I just accepted that we're built different (for comparison they're more Ariana-like and I'm more Dua-like) and that's not a bad thing, I just always felt like an outlier when we were teenagers. I don't really believe in comparison, I just felt like a stuck out lol.

I've just started working out a couple of weeks ago, I never did it seriously ever, so I hope to achieve an even better body.

For 95% of my life: yes.

The past year, I picked up a very physically demanding job, where I'm often lifting 150-200 lbs objects by hand every day, and constantly on my feet, and when I TELL YOU the wonders it's done for my body, to the point I can basically eat whatever I want….Yeah, confidence on point now

Absolutely yes. I do get self conscious mostly about my weight, even though I'm a skinny *****. My voice, as it is more on the feminine side. I prefer to wear pants instead of shorts because I don't want people looking at my legs. The only thing I'm truly not self conscious about is my hair as I do get complimented on that a lot.

Yes I used to be even when I was skinny and weight 40kg

I'm even more insecure about my body because I got a bit of a belly and I haven't even been with a man in 4 years because of it because I rather nobody sees how big I am under my baggy merch :gaycat7:

i have no real idea how tall i am in measurements but same. ive been almost 200 pounds for about 10 years now :rip:

I am, but mostly about my stomach. I gained weight in my 5 year relationship and halfway through it went toxic and I guess food was an escape. I lost a lot of weight and grown some muscles and a nice chest, but my belly still being there is reminding me that there will probably be some loose skin so even if I did my best and hit my peak theres always going to be a reminder that I'll never be truly slim. I don't even eat that much anymore either so i'm surprise with all the work and gym and walking I do that i'm not as slim as people who eat whatever they want due to good metabolism.

I think society (especially the gay sphere) is growing so addicted to body building that I should be insecure about my body but I kinda love my body. I'm very thin/slim and I don't see myself spending hours at the gym just to change that and fit better in the gay circle. If that means I'll remain single for idk how long then so be it, but I refuse to change myself just to appeal to others.

Currently yes, I become a hermit in the winter and haven't been to the gym in the like two months, plus I'm randomly constipated for whatever reason :biblio:

But outside of that not really, I'm 6'2 with a "twunk" body so I know I'll be okay, just need to get my groove back.

Oh. Well I honestly didn't really care about her at all. I just watched Elisabeth go through all of that emotionally and physically and it made me think to myself "aging naturally has never been more appealing than it is right now." And suddenly we loved ourselves again.
