The reasoning behind a new generation is that they are REPLACING the previous one. It means the older gen has reached their prime. This isn't happening when aespa, Le Sserafim, Stray Kids and IVE are all doing much bigger numbers and have more brand recognition than any of the groups you mentioned, except maybe ILLIT.

Well idk if that post was considering it an "achievement" it was just an update that aespa was trending at that time.

Most MY accounts are also annoyed that SM hasn't announced anything yet.

 

I don't think that ranking really says much about how well anyone would chart, it just shows interest/what is being searched a lot on the app

We definitely aren't getting them all. June is just a single album. But we have a big chance at getting an English/Japanese version of Dirty Work (since the it was registered as Dirty Work [Korean Version]).

 

Someone pointed out that Drift and Smile were registered for international release, so they could also show up on a Japanese release.

So IVE is  going to be the only remaining relevant girl group from a mid size / nugu agency?

I don't know, High Up is preparing their GG, Higher Music was also preparing their GG and Fuko and several other girls from I-Land2 were there but then Fuko left and one girl was spotted with High Up girls. Well we're up to a Big 4 from a Big 3. HYBE have Le Sserafim, NewJeans, ILLIT and fromis_9 who all smashed last year. 
 

QWER got a #2 smash single and Kiikii got a #13 single and good album sales. And of course we still have G-IDLE, even if their newest song is taking off slowly.

K-pop is less dependent on the Big 3 than ever, not the opposite. It's just that some of the mid-tiers got absorbed into HYBE so now there are more big agency groups than ever.

 

BM was heavily promoted on KTRL but it just didn't work out for them, so sad. Maybe next time try the music.

Nah the public is starving! We've also had too many contradicting reports from it being a single, their possibly being a b side to the single, a mini, a full album and more solo material all being released this year. I definitely think that once Aespa drop their new track and if it smashes they will have it be a part of their next body of work whether it be a mini or a full album.

 

Blackpink's situation makes zero sense. They all don't need to be in the same place to record vocals. And we know that have alot of demos collecting dust and also literally ANYONE would love to work with them so idk how they're low on material. Us literally getting a single and then this reunion tour basically being used as a platform for their solo careers is tacky. I'm hoping that by some miracle they're either forced to and or are confronted for the lack of content for such a return

i agree with the last part. but am i the only one on the other side of the spectrum where i am ANNOYED that comebacks are being announced 4 to 5 weeks prior? if anything i'm more hyped when it's announced and right around the corner 

 

long teasing periods legit irritates me and it's soooo boring too. like okay today we get 4 useless pictures. tomorrow another 4. then the day after… 2 weeks of pictures i'm never going to look at again and absolutely nothing engaging and fun
