And there was ZERO talk about changing the groups situation

It seems like everyone just agreed to save face as much as possible so they can be milk their fandom to the last drop lol

I mean, YG needs the sales from a BP physical album.... right ? I know touring is what would make the most money, but having an overpriced album that would sell 2M copies is kinda needed for them....

I'm calling it, this blackpink tour is going to be terrible. Their tour in general were fine when they were a group when they were fully under label management to practice/train. 
 

This is going to be a shoddily put together haphazard cash grab mess.

She changed her profession on Instagram it says actor/actress.

 

Plus she just graduated from an acting school. 

From the look of the YG trainee Fansite, the GG is 4/5 is really the one Youngseo was seen with, if there is only 4 girls debuting that mean one girl left/was kicked out or moved on Team B. (4Koreans and 1 was Korean/Thai) 

 

YG also have a Japanese GG of 7 girls. Team B is OT6/7.

 

There is also two boygroup team one of 4 and one of 6.

I'm hoping the tour won't be that bad… I mean besides rosè they've all have toured this year with their solo work

They might do a single release and then a full album like their first album. The pre-release single, "How You Like That," got a smash physical release.

It's not really a rush-release. BabyMonster were a 4th gen group and they got revealed in January 2023 like five months after NewJeans and debuted in November 2023. YG's fifth gen GG is gonna be revealed starting in May 2025 and then debuting in 2026.

 

It would be like saying SM rush-released f(x) after SNSD.

YG doesn't have a track record of debuting girl groups 2 years apart like SM had?

There are so few girl groups active right now in Korea thanks to the collapse of the proverbial small and mid-sized agencies/labels that the big labels each need to have at least 5 active girl groups just to make up for the losses, even if it becomes nothing more than a government subsidized jobs program.

 

Rookie girl groups doing university festivals is not normal.  A girl group with 24 members is not normal.  Unremarkable solo debuts is not normal.  High budget dance teams is not normal.  Teenagers doing trot is not normal.  And before you say it's the new normal, there is an increasing energy right now for girl groups in Korea that hasn't really been there in almost 10 years of decline, but there just isn't the startup financing to match that interest, so it's left to the big labels to start to restore the culture. 

 

Now whether this ends up in a future where a few companies are running dozens of girl groups or eventually the big label staffers venture out and start new agencies/labels is something that will probably take another 10 years to find out.

the industry is dry because min hee jin was punished. art lost, so now we get corporate slop.
