I just don't understand why HYBE is even pushing them in Korea... they have plenty of k-groups, Katseye was their chance to have an actual Western girl group be successful with the Netflix doc and Touch... they have access to hire any writing camp/ producers and book the right promo they want yet they chose hyper-pop slop and MCountdown performances.. just makes absolutely no sense at all

What makes those cases different from NJZ though is that the plagiarism was both coming from inside their own company and also trying to create direct competitors to them, instead of spiritual successors.

Thank you! Intellectually dishonest is the perfect way to describe @Butters and people who gaslight in this… This is why I feel like I can't be apart of the K-pop fandom anymore, so many people who will lie and excuse everything and couldn't care less about the impact of good art or integrity. Racism, theft, criminal activity, etc. is all okay as long as oppa and unnie are the ones doing it. It's really sad just on a human level

promoting in kpop spaces gives them an advantage

Hmm, ELFs are a horrible fanbase, but no. Yawn did actually use words to that effect on the radio. There's plenty of evidence on Korean sites, plus the audio is out there floating around too. It's not a fabricated situation.

Yeah I don't understand this one bit. The way Bang Piggy has been obsessed with western validation for the longest time and has been sacrificing his other groups kpop identities, but when he finally has a girlgroup who CAN give him that much wanted western success and the girls actually have what it takes, he's going the opposite direction. Electric chair!

KATSEYE has the potential to give us that 2000s/pussycat dolls serve and really deliver with the timbaland sound. Nobody asked for this hyperpop noise mess.

Anyway I hate to say it but I think HYBE is being smart trying to jump fully into the camp aesthetic when almost everyone else seems stuck in the Y2K.

Mind you they already started with ENGODPEN and Bring The Heat Back and I'll give its flowers to Starship because they did it first with IVE and Accendio and also Supernova, of course
