That's cause the tickets price are very expensive (like SKZ/TWICE VIP tickets costs nearly 2x Brazil's minimum wage, was is was around 70% brazilians are winning per month). And the country is too big so It's expensive to travel. If you don't have hardcore fans, they won't show up. 

 

TLDR: Selling over 100,000 tickets here in a venue is indeed very impressive.

Demi did also headline RIR a few days later. I never said stray kids aren't they impressive, a stadium anywhere on earth is impressive, but they're acting like it's a market that stray kids cracked like boa in Japan or BTS in the US when there's like half a dozen of SKZ seniors who could have and chose to not to tour there for some of the reasons that you outlined, which I also touched on.

 

The #1 touring group from this generation is a major accomplishment, that user is just an out of touch troll who won't accept anything less than pretending SKZ are the successors to BTS and Big Bang, and also still is buying into the fake pr narrative that kpop wasn't global until the 2020s.

 

Media play has become so powerful in Western kpop discourse now that people will turn on their favorite idols if a CEO tells them to. It's exhausting to those of us who were here before all of this and saw these pr pipelines built up and can see past them. Users like me who can actually make claims contrary to popular narratives and back them up with receipts are routinely shat on by people who weren't even into kpop a few years ago. It's not even limited to ATRL,this is a kpop issue in general. People were really expecting the G-Dragon comeback to flop and the 2NE1 world tour to not instantly sell out because YG duped y'all into thinking black pink was the first time people heard teddy beats.

 

Stray Kids will go down as Hallyu icons but theyre hardly the top group. You can't be the top group with no hits and also not being the top in album sales. They're top in touring with the caveat that bigger selling groups with more popular songs have not attempted tours at this scale. It's not entirely dissimilar to what I said about how if SNSD were actually allowed to tour, they would have pulled even bigger numbers than my other fav GD. Perspective is really lacking with every modern kpop group desperately trying to prop up this image of being the #1 group who will lead kpop to being even bigger. Album sales and streams are shrinking, nobody is being lead anywhere.

Apart from BTS and BLACKPINK, I can't think of any K-pop group who can tour as big as them here or bigger. But you are right, It's not a market they cracked. I wouldn't say It's a market any K-pop group cracked. Rarely even other internacional acts with the exception of Music Legends. It's a country who the general population mostly values the national artists. 

 

However, I understand your frustration. I found out who Super Junior, SNSD, BIGBANG and 2NE1 were even before I knew what K-pop was as a industry back in the 00s. It's undeniable they opened the doors for the popularity of K-pop in LATAM, including Brazil. 

 

Anyway, I don't think they are THE Top group, because to be THE top group they'd have to be leading in almost everything and they aren't, as you said. Actually, no one in their generation is THE top group either. One can be bigger than another, but in the end, for me there's just a bunch of popular A-list groups sharing the spotlight.

Streets were saying It's because they were away too expensive and the promoters didn't want to risk to upgrade the price of the tickets to cover it up and the concert ending up not selling well. 

 

They were rumored to tour here in 2023 and headlining a Festival. I think the negotiations didn't go well.

Speaking of 4th gen and touring, does anybody know what's going on with Jamsil Olympic stadium? It closed in 2023 to modernize and make concerts more feasible but now it's also being turned into a baseball field?

 

 

It would be tragic if 4th contracts start expiring before the representative groups are allowed to do a real stadium in their home country.
