I can only think of PN in recent memory that did something similar. that miracle never took place for Crazy so

I'm pretty much sure Le Serafim always debuted high on Melon right away except maybe their debut. Plus Easy came from a successful era, a #1 Melon (Unforgiven). of course it's gonna smash right away and then the Coachella gate and Hybe thing came after, and then they tanked. It's not a rocket science.

Not sure if it counts as "rigged", but anyone who watched the show knows the the editing's effort to make the public empathise with that one member who couldn't sing, couldn't dance, couldn't do anything and ended up disappearing soon after the group disbanded.

The way she got #5 despite the rest of the top 22 out serving her  started the "hard working but still lowkey filler" produce trainee archetype I fear. At least she gave us this iconic moment and the memes that came with it.

 

Reminds Sejeong needs to get back to the studio to start slaying again; Jellyfish was doing the most with her (2 group debuts and solo the same year ) to just become another actress in the end

This is actually common for all groups and has been since about 2022. Promo works wonders in K-pop. Even groups who debut big see bigger numbers in their second and third weeks than their first weeks thanks to the bump.

I'll be the first to call out companies for payola, but in this case, LSF's trajectory is actually normal for a group that's promoting which would signify organic success. If you want to look for fraud, take a look at PLAVE, instead.
