Very fair, but I don't think we can necessarily use numbers from their singles to claim that other groups aren't getting people to listen to their B/sides.

Aespa promoted illusion and managed to chart in the top 20. It's not always the case but atp groups shouldn't promote their titles too then

and she's barely doing above tzuyu  the ONCEs are LOYAL because TWICE are loyal to each other and put the group first. Lisa is giving Jessica the way she bagged a billionaire beaux and think she's "transcended the group"

but by no means is Ruby a flop. critical acclaim and amazing streaming hold. it just goes to show how different of a demographic blackpink has.

No, but Japanese acts don't have the crazy playlisting and push korean acts do... without the global market there wouldn't be a K-pop market where as Japan's market is self sufficient.

SM needs to handle solo careers better. TBH they keep giving their girls solos way too late into their careers. How is there going to be any hype/success with solos when the group itself is 5+ years past their peak? I hope SM learns from where they went wrong with RV solos and gives at least Karina a proper solo by 2026.

Nothing exploits fans more than solo promos from an idol group during their trainee contract, and when not nefarious is mostly motivated by the greed (big company) or desperation (small company) of returning similar results while only having to cover the hair/makeup/concept/production/travel/staffing costs of one person.

i still remember there is some discussion regarding BABYMONSTER and that planet just decided to declare that DRIP is better than every aespa songs. Like ok aespa wasn't in the discussion???

I guess you missed the point I mentioned that it gets the track to be more known, but promoting it on those shows don't make it a hit lol

People who watch the performances on Internet are mostly devoted fans already, not Korean GP. Sometimes, it happens that a song bursts the fandom bubble and it becomes popular, and the performances might help it indirectly, but it's a rare thing. Agencies aren't worried if the promoted b-side will be a hit or not, the efforts are on the title track.

I hadn't listened in so long and forgot the mini. I lied many times over - "No Celestial" is one of my favorite 4th gen B-sides. 
 

I think I also forgot the Easy mini entirely. Move Antifragile to my #1 and Easy to my last place.

Yeah, even if it doesn't make the song smash, the YT views alone bring a huge level of streams to YT Music.

It read like shade because you were leaving out one of the top girl groups who is infamous for having well-performing B-sides and you had spoken negatively on that in the past about them. So if it wasn't your intention, then I'm sorry.

This is why debuts don't matter. Korean charts are super promo sensitive and songs typically start to peak in their second week after a full set of weekly promotions.

Soloists just aren't nearly as profitable as groups in K-pop across the board. They need to learn to milk legacy touring. Like not having Red Velvet out there touring is CRAZY. They're living tens of millions on the table for no reason.
