Aren't they lipsynching the whole thing? the vocals are nothing to be desired

Show me the car fax lol. I have Aespa posters on my wall but they are a vocal disappointment for SM and there is no evidence H2H is any worse than them atp. Their musical direction has me inclined to think their vocal line is stronger. Like why mindlessly hate on them? At least have some substance

Why would I? they are readily available online, feel free to look them yourself since you seems desperate to make a point. 

 

 

Maybe they don't, maybe they do. Up until SM is brave enough to show this girls they can SING albeit better than their predecessors, I would still hold on the notion they are the weakest SM GG vocally

??? what does lipsyncing have to do with it? You can still tell who can sing and who can't from the studio vocals. Carmen, Yuha, and Stella are all clearly decent. Better than pretty much any other main vocal from a recent girl group, though that isn't really saying much. The maknae was giving the same flat toneless baby voice as all the non-vocals, except maybe a tiny notch up.

 

The harmonies on the song are great imo, they're pretty tight and frankly a clever production choice to disguise the not-great singing by the visuals. All the monotone sung parts have stacked harmonies on them and then the backing vocals during the post-chorus are very nice. I don't really know what you mean by "power and volume". Loudness has nothing to do with quality of singing and this isn't exactly a belty song.

 

Like it's not like anyone else of the same-ish gen is any better

yeah the bar is truly in hell but I'm being antagonized here saying they're subpar. Maybe I'm expecting tew much when you had SNSD, Red Velvet as their predecessors and they were not likes at debut

Oh for sure they are subpar, but I'd be more mad about it if they were trying to do like. Black Mamba or some power ballad or something and completely failing at it. They released a chill little song that's pretty musically interesting and the vocals are perfectly adequate for that. I mean my expectations were subterranean so tbh this is pretty much my best case scenario The glory days (aka good singing) are gone unless some company gets really brave.

 

The child is unforgivable though.
