That's matted hair, not braids/locks. Totally different thing and has absolutely nothing to do with black people, sis.  

 

But if we're going to drag Aespa, let's please drag their hair stylists. The fact that all of their hair colors are almost identical and we didn't get a hair band inspired look nor shoot for this comeback is their biggest miss in a while. Giselle's hair is literally half of a hair band look and it drives me crazy that they didn't just go all out.

 

Don't get me started on how annoying it is that they didn't add any color to Ningning's hair.

Imo even if they were, it still wouldn't (and shouldn't!) be an issue. I understand cultural appropriation is a problem, but whoever is policing hairstyles has completely lost the plot. "Only Black people can have braids" is not a serious stance for anyone to have. How would this rhetoric apply to biracial kids? How many percent Black do you have to be to be able to wear braids? Any line that is drawn is inevitably arbitrary, and only serves to further other unrelated agendas, i.e., tearing down K-pop stars.

 

We really need to start pushing back on this sort of nonsense. It just muddies the waters regarding the real harms of cultural appropriation. Because literally what negative stereotypes of Black people does having braids perpetuate? 

Wrt Tarzan his braids are not a problem because they appropriate Black culture. They're a problem because they're cringe; they make him look like a try-hard that's uncomfortable in his own skin.

literaly they gave up, the camera was dirty at the start u can see it on camila like whipe that sh*t and start again...looks cheap and everything..they had a whole 1 hour countdown Q&A and  the girls say they wrote original music thats coming soon.., which is good so i will check but, JYP is doing them so wrong. also the girls told the interviewer that they choose the name by themselves...soo they doing a lot of things by themselves VCHA was planned this mess its just charity at this point..
