The way her face cycles between looking completely starved and perfectly healthy every other week, just like the phases of the moon. Name an idol more dedicated to their concept!

The way their last two eras peaked creatively with the trailers... At this point I'd rather they do without the trailers and focus on putting out a single good MV. Like what's the point of constantly teasing amazing ideas and concepts that have no real follow-through in the final product?

Lemonade is serviceable, but neither the song nor the MV is hitting like they're supposed to. There was a clear attempt at doing "whiplash, but more". But this maximalist recreation of whiplash conceptually doesn't make sense, because the whole point of whiplash was its minimalism in both sound+aesthetic. Most of lemonade has that bassy synth running throughout much of the song which Is nowhere near as catchy as it needs to be (i.e. like whiplash) Is exhausting to listen to, especially by the end Traps the song in this dark region sonically (ironic given how lemonade is generally perceived to be bright) And the weakness of that synth is compounded because the climax (both song+mv) just falls flat. There needed to be a bigger switch-up in production after the bridge and/or winter+ningning should've been screeching one key higher. The mv also suffered because it lacked a cohesive creative through line. It cycles through a whole bunch of completely different aesthetics that distract from one another Half the time they're cosplaying other (SM) groups' concepts, which don't even fit the song's vibe that well There's a lot of color in their wardrobe and set design (as there should be!), but for whatever reason the editor decided the mv had to be as washed out as possible All the individual cuts are cool, but it's not immediately clear how they are connected (if at all) There's already so much going on throughout the whole thing, and when they cut to the visually empty whiplash section after the bridge, it just sucked out all the energy from the climax, when energy was very desperately needed By the end of the video my brain felt so numb, all I walked away with was a vague impression that a lot of k-unt was being served. It's like the kpop version of a transformers movie. It's just so ironic whiplash managed to do so much with so little, whereas lemonade is so overstuffed that it buckles under its own weight. Unfortunately, on a conceptual level, this might have to be their weakest TT for me.

I think it genuinely needs to be studied how 30% of giselle's jaw disappears whenever she puts on some makeup

2026 US Midterms Megathread 🇺🇸 Dem Primaries: AZ (7/21), GA & SD (7/28)
This isn't really directed at anyone in particular, and it's just a general sentiment I've seen some people here echo/imply - that posturing doesnt matter. Which essentially leads us to "well at least he's outwardly evil!" I think this is a very dangerous and slippery slope. Of course actions speak louder than words, but even if a politician lies/doesn't follow through, there is, at the very least, an acknowledgement of reality, and the value of appearing like a decent person. Which in turn maintains order because everyone at least pretends to abide by those norms. Because what happens when we no longer bother to maintain this facade? Well, politicians and corporations will realize they have so much more to profit than lose from being shamelessly and unabashedly evil. And the current state of US politics is the prime example of what happens when people are rewarded for being upfront about their bigotry. Now instead of quietly being racists behind closed doors, the clowns are shouting their nonsense out on podcasts/news programs and coalescing into this unstoppable lump or cancer. The overton window has shifted so far right, and racism has become so normalized that even the non-edgelords are getting sucked in. Shame was the one thing short of violence that society had to keep people with privillege in check, and America has given that up. And I guess we'll see in the coming years if the US can come up with an alternative!

Why does this look like the samsung girl from ADP

Knowing they're all Rima Yoon works, I think there's probably a lot of traditional VFX being used in GO too, so maybe it's a bit premature to say it's 90% AI... (also i was referring to the trailer for rich man, not the actual MV) Personally id say pink venom is their worst; a lot of the sets look cheap.

Well that's were I'd have to disagree then. I thought the use of AI here was generally tasteful, and the creative direction was rather inspired, i.e. the oars making the world go round, and Lisa's mask being a callback to alter ego. I'd assume there's probably a lot more callbacks and symbolism that I didn't catch since I'm not a fan. So I'm not really sure what exactly you'd consider "lazy" or "slop"... (The only thing I found to be egregious/weak was the ending, and I felt that the visual didn't pull the whole video together like it should have.) If we're talking about "slop" I'd argue Jump was a much worse offender in that regard, with the chatGPT-produced posters/billboards. (Also the AI bowling balls falling out the truck in the rich man trailer)

Well then at what level of usage does AI become unacceptable? IMO it either is or isn't. Sounds to me like the main complaint here is the lack of interaction between the 4 members + the usual group dance scene at the end. And critics just bring up the AI as a form of signalling to "prove" the MV is bad. Even though it's likely the case that even without the AI, they still would've released an MV with as little physical involvement as this.

I don't really care for BP like that, but I don't recall there being such a fuss about the AI usage when Aespa dropped Armageddon or when ADP dropped Famous. It's literally the same production team. Sounds like people are only harping on it because the group's on their way out.
