I love ROSÉ and she'll always be my BLACKPINK bias but this "collab" with Alex Warren is NOT IT seriously she's an A Lister why is she collabing with this wonder bread plain "artist"? Well, tbf, it's because they simply weren't in the top 4 especially during 2022–2023, when a wave of new monster rookies debuted and started outpacing both aespa and ITZY, who were previously the two biggest 4th-gen girl groups. Though aespa managed to bounce back after nearly ending up in the same situation as ITZY.

It's kinda iconic how these so-called career-ending songs dropped just a week apart. aespa managed to turn things around, but ITZY was never quite able to recover. Truly misunderstood bops

aespa has never been in a  situation that's even close to Itzy's not even close.

Read my post again - I said nearly. While aespa never dropped as low as ITZY is now, simply because they didn't underperform for as long, they were definitely on a similar level at one point with both of them underperforming in 2022. ITZY weren't massive flops in 2022 either. And btw, Sneakers actually performed better than Girls as well.

Literally 1mil streams on Spotify Debut, Top 10 on Melon, and huge album sales. Felt like a crazy person in here defending them during that summer against numbers that everyone considers great now.

I like the way aespa sing in the song... That's it, I don't like the song.

Sorry no. aespa has never been close to that situation, not nearly, not almost, not the same. We know you're doing this to foment controversy, but at least try to make it realistic.

 

Illusion also ended up with more digital points than Sneakers and that was a B-side. ITZY have enough problems, what's the point in starting something that is clearly setting them up

aespa career trajectory has been very different to ITZY. 

If ITZY had an era like 'Girls' it would be seen as their 3rd most successful.

 

In KR: 

Illusion: 380M

Sneakers: 320M

Girls: 250M

 

Spotify:

Illusion: 178M

Girls: 139M

Sneakers: 106M

 

And the Girls mini sold a lot more. 

The Girls era is seen as bad just because other groups were having huge eras. But if you compare to true underperformances, you can actually see it did well.

Underperformed for as long??? Girl, Itzy had two hits before Sneakers, Aespa had NL, Savage, DCT, and in the end Girls did decent and Illusion ended up being up to par with hits like Sneakers or even Pop.
