I don't know what or why but something shifted after RV. SM hasn't been able to produce a GREAT gg (or bg) since 2014.

Domestically, aespa had more momentum than all of them except for NewJeans. Globally, they're #2 for tours and album sales and have been trading the #1 spot back and forth with IVE since debut. The only 4th gen girl group that ever had a trajectory to outclass aespa was NewJeans and they never got to see it through.

 

Supernova was crazy because Next Level was already their big one. Most groups only get one colossal smash, aespa now has 3. aespa is on track to pass Twice's career sales in half the time. They're gigantic and their sales and touring stats never fell off, neither did their ability to get hits domestically. aespa has literally only ever over performed 

 

 

aespa isn't a 4th gen leader was a bogus narrative crafted by bitter antis. They have been near the top in EVERY metric while their peers struggle to stay on top in only one or two.

Girls was an underperformance compared to LSRF, GI, IVE and NJ's hits at the time, but aespa was still #1 in album sales and touring stats. Not to mention they had a huge fanbase, strong brand name and Karina / Winter were still the #1 it girls at the time.

Wonho told he scrapped many songs that he wasn't happy with, he got more and more creative control of the years, so he's been working out his sounds and music. The album is not fully done yet, but majority of the song (at the moment) are in English and a few are in Korean.

 

Also fun fact Wonho has songwriting credits on Woody new Japanese Single, Wonho was in charge of translating the song in Japanese.

 

Please tell me Better Than Me is not a indication of what this new album will sound like
