I think the Balance mini and dirty work are my favorite kpop songs this year but I also liked Kai's comeback a lot and was surprised I didn't hear much about it anywhere. I kinda forgot I'm a sheep too

Oh brother, here we go again. Kpop fans convincing themselves thier fandoms of inflated streams and sales in 2025 being bigger then the actual Korean Cultural icons that set them up in the first place, means much. Obviously they are bigger because K-pop becomes more global by the day. It's not that deep.

Me saying SKZ being bigger than aespa ≠ to me being an aespa-anti  Some of you MYs in here really come off as insecure.

 

Notice how I've never insulted any of the aespa members, since that's just not how I operate. Meanwhile, some of you throw around insults daily, especially toward other people's faves.

I don't hate or dislike any group. In fact, I give credit where it's due to almost every group (including ALL OF YOUR FAVES). But because I don't blindly praise SM groups or agree with every take in here, you try to paint me as someone who hates them. All while some of you constantly insult SKZ and other non-SM groups with no issue.

Like Imagine if I talked about aespa the same way you and other people in here talk about SKZ? Exactly. Most of the time, when I engage in fanwars it's simply because people start with me first. 

For example, nothing I've said today warrants this much backlash. I haven't said anything negative about any group (mind you I praised aespa constantly and acknowledged their popularity), and I'm not going to let anyone gaslight me into thinking I did something wrong.

 

Like just look at the things I have to deal with in the quote under and how it suddenly switched towards SKZ:

Me and @Eternium having discussions about who's bigger between SKZ and aespa earlier this year, doesn't mean I hate aespa or he hates SKZ. We were just having normal fan discussions about who's bigger, since aespa and SKZ are indeed the top 2 biggest 4th gen groups right now. (See I'm giving credit and acknowledging aespa again ) I even praised aespa for bouncing back and repeaking when everyone - including me - counted them out. So I really don't get why you keep labeling me as an aespa anti?

The growth and stomp, and it's just 5/15 reported shows in North America  Truly no other 4th gen group comes close to them I fear

One of my friends who don't even care about K-pop has Gnarly on one of thier playlist. That's a legit hit!  But yeah, Gameboy isn't making any noise.

I didn't make it all the way through Gabriela or Gameboy but I think it's interesting how starkly they demonstrated the internet principle that you can't make something edgy and interesting and then immediately go back to AI-generated bland-pop. I can prolly just shuffle a playlist or something on Spotify that has all their songs, but I do like rap and hip hop in the boy groups
