Taking a look at charts, after barely looking this year, I didn't know how bad Good Thing by IDLE flopped:

14M in the Circle Chart and 12M in Spotify. 

 

That is a huge no by the public and even kpop fans.

blinks are always the first users to accuse sones of living in the past but can't go 30 seconds without bringing up Girls as if it didn't move two million albums and bring multiple year end chart placements(something certain groups have never come close to a single time in any year)

Me saying that both aespa and ITZY got outperformed by the monster rookies in 2022 doesn't mean I'm trying to set anyone up. Mind you, both Sneakers and Illusion were top 10 singles and had similar streams as you posted. So please, drop the superiority complex. I know you dislike ITZY, but let's be real. And also, I am talking about 2022 specifically.

The Girls era is seen as bad just because other groups were having huge eras. But if you compare to true underperformances, you can actually see it did well. 

 

Illusion and Girls have more streams than Sneakers, because aespa managed to stay popular, which has also reflected on their back catalog streams, while ITZY didn't.

 

I never directly stated that Girls era was a flop era either? I just pointed out how they weren't among the top 4 ggs during that period. Neither Girls era and Sneakers era were flops actually. NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM and GIDLE were simply just doing better.

And aespa and ITZY were indeed on the same level back when ITZY were at their peak.  That doesn't mean that aespa and ITZY are on the same level today though

aespa had the 2nd biggest domestic hit of the generation back then, was consistently moving 1.5-2m per release, played their 9th concert ever in a sold out stadium, and had their debut ticketed live performance on the main stage of coachella. Their streams improved because they started doing the same payola everybody else does, not because they blew up, their sales have actually declined. aespa has overperformed at every step of their careers and hasn't needed to rely on smoke & mirrors to achieve it unlike their peers who ran for fake global popularity the second Korea said no, only to be denied. 

 

even back before Drama, aespa had b-sides and unpromoted promo singles outcharting full ITZY comebacks.

i kinda dislike the first verse being short + there being no proper chorus

the chorus grew on me massively tho, it's very catchy

The verses aren't memorable imo. Which is weird because aespa titles usually have very good verses.

NewJeans, IVE, LE SSERAFIM and GIDLE still had more momentum during that period. Though aespa is literally the most popular 4th gen gg today, so I don't understand what's the issue here? It's not like I'm not acknowledging aespa status and popularity. Why do you think everyone refer to Supernova as their big comeback and repeak?

Wonho will release a full album, and Better Than Me is just the first single. What Would You Do might be on the album too, we don't know, and him too (yeah).

 

Wonho told he scrapped many songs that he wasn't happy with, he got more and more creative control of the years, so he's been working out his sounds and music. The album is not fully done yet, but majority of the song (at the moment) are in English and a few are in Korean.

 

Also fun fact Wonho has songwriting credits on Woody new Japanese Single, Wonho was in charge of translating the song in Japanese.
