I will say BP used to get dragged all the time for not going #1 and their awkward peaks on Gaon

 

 

Pink Venom and Shut Down had people dragging them. In fact I'm pretty sure IVE was used to drag BP when Pink Venom didn't get a PAK and IVE had a RAK like 2-3 weeks after its release

They are not over but this is far from some smash. They used to easily clear 600k UL. They were the only ones to rival NJ's digital power

I think you all need to remember that Madonna regularly struggled to become the top artist of the year because Mariah, Whitney, Celine, etc. were out-peaking her regularly. But she became the #1 female artist ever because she had longevity and kept putting out hits, even if they weren't the #1 hits of the year.

 

On the year end charts: 

Heya - 353M (2024)

Baddie - 204M (2024) + 150M (2023) = 354M 

Accendio - 128M (2024)

Either Way - 90M (2024) + 145M (2023) = 235M

 

IVE are literally on their way to becoming the #1 girl group ever because they already have six megasmashes and now they're constantly putting out moderate hits that keep them growing.

It's clear IVE is declining, but even on their decline, they're still poised to take the #1 spot for all-time stats for a K-pop girl group. Come Wednesday, 2/12, when Circle updates, they'll be an easy #1 for 4th gen girl groups. And they're about to surpass BP for #3 most Circle digital points in February and then they'll surpass TWICE before their next comeback.

It's not comparable. The streaming era has Discovery Mode which helps hits significantly. On top of that, streaming era hits are just bigger overall. The #1 hit of the 2010s (Shape Of You) wouldn't even be top 100 for the 2020s
