I have adblock installed on all my internet browsers 

 

I use ad block on YouTube bc the ads are TOO LONG and unnecessary + adblock for YouTube on my phone 

 

Trying to find a way to use adblock on instagram. I can't deal! The internet was never like this years ago and especially during its infancy.

The way I PAY money (youtube premium, spotify premium) just to not be lambasted with atrocious ads, always shilling something abominable like fast food, temu, "savings" on crap I don't need. I hate it!

Funny I see this thread after a made a screen recording of my Instagram Reel feed. Out of 4 videos I watched 3 were ads. That was a bit insane. 

 

Oh and btw, I hope you are using YouTube extension that not only blocks official ads, but also skips the in-video ad plugs by creators themselves. Got them on my pc and mobile (apple users would have to quietly cry in the corner on this one tho) 

Yeah everything is so annoying, even Grindr can't be used at this point with all these stupid ads.

YouTube has become unbearable to use due to the ads. My scream time is pretty much non existence there and I'm not about to pay money to watch homemade content.

And the ******* ads on Twitter... my god. They used to be fine before that idiot took over, but now i'm seeing the most stupid ridiculous ones.

For PC, you'll probably need to switch to a non-chromium based web browser (Firefox etc.) as Google is aggressively pushing manifest 3 to kill adblockers.

It's a bit tricky to set up but definitely worth the trouble. You'll get ads even if you pay premium nowadays, Google says they're not ads and calls them "sponsorships"

I've used the free version of AdGuard for years now (on iPhone, with Safari - not sure if/how it works with other phones and other browsers)

Download Wipr for iPhone. It's an extension integrated into Safari. It's been working pretty well. For YouTube, I pay premium because I use it everyday so it's worth the money.

Install ad blockers on mobile and pay for services where you can (YouTube for example, also Instagram and Fb in EU offer an ad free tier you can pay for).  

And do they really work on people? In all my years dealing with ads; I have NEVER once clicked on one because I was interested in it.

Please  Twitter is borderline unusable with irrelevant ads every 2-3 tweets. Elon is the worst thing that ever happened to that app

I get an ad on that like every 15 seconds, it really is making it unusable and when you go to exit the pop up ad, it triggers another pop up to download whatever tacky game that is being shilled from the app store  so many bots on there clogging up the grid too

The thing that I really hate is when I go to a website and I get the "it looks like you're using an adblocker!" pop up where I have to click "continue without disabling" and it keeps coming again and again if I refresh or go to a new page. It's made letterboxd for web utterly unusable (my adblocker fortunately blocks the ones in their app).

 

Concur with the others about twitter ads. I am super petty so I have spent years compulsively blocking any ad that pops up in my timeline. I have 35000+ blocked accounts. And they keep trying to make it harder to block them but I do not care! If I have to go through a 4 step process to block ads, I ******* will!

 

My Hulu ads are hilarious though. Either they are not doing targeted ads, or else they think I'm black or latino for some reason. I get an insane number of ads for Prep though, which annoys me. If they can tell that I'm gay surely they can also tell that I'm not sexually active.
