Yeah I feel like we're in such a weird place now where a lot of post-release singles flop. Not sure if it's just a matter of accessibility or what, but TBIM is a great example. I remember it really popping off when the album dropped, but by the time the music video came around it'd mostly lost steam. 
 

Maybe striking while the irons hot, even if you end up juggling a lot of hits, is the better strategy in this case?

 Not sure about the timing of this single, Taste deserves more attention at the moment. Maybe they have something in store to push for the deluxe, so they want to just push out everything now.

they're moving too fast. they need to hold off for a while. this is literally her planet her moment so they should wait a few months and pair it with jingleball & snl for promo later. 

This is actually wise of them. Too often in this era of music artists drop that single alongside the album release and that's usually it. Push the next single and get that next smash + she'll be able to give it a visual and hopefully push it a bit before she's stuck touring for however long.

This era is lowkey serving her TD, 1989, Planet Her... 

Oof—Island is wasting no time  the timing feels too early, but nowadays, most post album singles flop, so I can see what they're trying to do here.

Had this been handled by a better Team, this would already be her fourth No. 1.

 

Right now, it feels like all her hits are majorly attributed to the sound and her charisma. We need the Team behind to do better tactics.

 

Sounds greedy but such a shame to miss out on all the potentials.

Honestly people are saying this is too fast, I don't really think so. If they waited another month to release this, it would've peaked on radio in early 2025 because of the christmas freeze, and by then, its streaming momentum will be long over. I think this is a smart choice but they should really be dropping PPP and Feather to make way for Taste and this.

I remember there was a screenshot of Z100 in February 2019 playing all six Sweetener/TUN singles in rotation.

it's serving hit status already with a potential to become even bigger. it's STILL top 10 on Spotify WW  so why not give this a single treatment already?

I don't see a comparison to boy is mine. that song's first 5 weeks on US spotify: 5-11-32-52-68. 

 

however, I could see a comparison to Traitor; US Spotify first 5 weeks: 3-3-3-5-5.

when that song became a single, it only got back up to #19 on the hot 100.

She's getting that 4th top 10 😇 (Hopefully Good Graces and Juno get their moment)

I love the new queen of pop and root for her to keep her heels on all the necks, but OH MY GOD I hate this song  The super high, squeaky "how you pick me up, pull 'em down" part makes my skin CRAWL. 

 

It will smash but I predict that it will be the least fondly remembered in the long run. A Bad Blood tea (Taste being Style, Juno being Wildest Dreams)
