After reading their review, the score still doesn't make much sense.

 

They say the lyrics on the album are trash but the beats and Ice's delivery are spectacular

 

So now we giving high scores based on the instrumentals and delivery and lyrics don't matter?

 

I'm not one to say this but this is giving paid for review.

 

The album is bad it just is. I like Ice and hope her music gets better but Y2K is severely underwhelming.

 

Edit: the journalist has been an Ice Spice stan since 2022.

they're biased, but what's new?

They rely on generating controversy, clicks & engagement. They're meritless sellouts, operating under the guise of "critical analysis". 

It doesn't read like a 7.6 tho

Maybe because the star power and hype doesn't reflect in the music whereas we don't expect anything from the other

Idk why Pitchfork always feels the need to be so extreme and sell us obvious lies. This album is nowhere near an 7.6. 

 

This is why people need to trust their ears. This entire publication has turned into industry favortism and blatant bias. They dont even hide it anymore.
