So No matter how much you try to deny it or twist the narrative, you know people hold katy to ridiculously higher standards than other female popstars and they've always gotten a kick by dogpiling on her for everything, whether the reason is doctor luke or not

Shes going on a random zoom interview with Alex cooper that no one cares about, but can't invest in big playlists which is arguably the most effective way today to expose the music to a wider audience. Her team and Capitol are still so archaic in their marketing that it's laughable tbh.

HIH became a sleeper hit because it went viral due to that high belting note in the bridge. Lifetimes is just one long chorus and doesn't have that many dynamic moments in the song. So it has no viral potential tbh. 

i think what this awful rollout and just everything related to the music this era has made me realize is that i still only consume her projects out of a place of nostalgia and what she meant to me as a kid/teenager growing up. it's kinda devastating to realize you outgrew someone that used to be your every other thought back in the day. i keep rooting for her to get it together but it never happens and i think i have grown tired of it. i was so excited when she came back in 2019 with NRO because it felt fresh, full of life and a exciting natural progression for her career (even tho it was destined to "flop", i didn't care at all) but then she hit a road block and never quite recovered. the fact that i only streamed lifetimes once is lowkey so sad to me

Like what evidence is there of their friendship? She was in IKAG in 2008 and then what? They kind of sat close to each other at the 2010 VMAs but I didn't see them see close.

 

In 2017 Katy talked about Kesha in her Witness Worldwide. But even then it sounded like how I would talk about an old friend of a friend from high school. "Oh yeah... they're lovely." That was 7 years ago.

Yesterday I was on a date with a guy who (oh, how suprising) turned out to be a Brat fan. He said he listened to the song 1 time to laugh.

My friend told me that he enjoys the song a lot, should have been the first single.
I'm glad that outside the KCs, it's getting good feedback  

Let's pray for more playlisting support. 

If we want to expect any kind of success, we should wait the album release and see if something sticks on TikTok. 

I'm not being pessimistic, because I think Gimme, Gimme/JID collab could be cute and small hits.

is it an official radio single in UK? It looks like it's #44 on their weekly all station radio airplay

I've been getting my life from it since Thursday night. It's so sooo good. And I got my friends hooked on it too

Lifetimes is definitely a promo single, Katy used it to distract people from Woman's World controversy. Oh, her mind!

 

Next single: I'm His, He's Mine (if she's using that video she already shooted)

I actually like this. I think the hate train is hard to ignore and many listen to it once out of curiosity and switch off beyond that. The sound matches nothing that is released lately which doesn't help too, but some in here are doing too much

Red Flag!!. Tell him sniffing on too many poppers leads to brain damage and that full recovery requires him to listen to McArthur Park on a loop.

This is so disappointing.  It's not offensively bad like Woman's World, but it feels like a faceless EDM collab from 2015.  I'm shocked by how bad Luke's production has been with these singles.

 

Maybe she needs to call Zedd, he's the only one who's done anything positive for her in the last five years
