Katy shot herself in the foot with this one. I'm assuming she's close with Luke and could be upfront about the optics of them reuniting. Couldn't she or her team suggest he used a moniker or sth? How dumb were they to think that Katy's target audience would let if fly the way they do for rappers who work with him? Mostly bc they don't keep up with his non-pop work but still.

That comparison doesn't work lol. We're dealing with pop music here and there's way less leeway for women, especially in music. I'm not saying it'll be a headline story on the tabloids, but anyone with a pulse on pop culture will take note of all this if the music doesn't sound perfect. She won't be defamed as a person, but no one's gonna wanna bop to bad music when it's also produced by an alleged abuser. This was Katy's potential comeback and she's fumbling hard af  if the music ends up magically being good, then no one will give af it's Dr Luke but that just ain't looking to be the case

Where did you get that from? Who said Dr Luke is innocent? The trial was just ended with an agreement on both parts purely because there was never going to be a legal proof to sustain the case, but in no way Dr Luke was pronounced as "innocent"! Stop making up narratives

He might not be pronounced as innocent but he is also not a convicted rapist or guilty of any other forms of abuse, which is what that user is referring to

I genuinely don't think the GP will really care, not that they'll be tuning in in the first place.

He SETTLED. That's not innocent jfc.

Can someone explain why Katy is owed to be an ally to Kesha when people seem to be forgetting Kesha went around telling industry peers that Katy was also raped by him which was a false lie? 

 

Katy's in a unique standing in the situation. Imagine someone lied about you being raped and then you are being gaslit to stand behind their other accusations or you're the bad person? 
 

Katy did the most objective thing she could do which was just not take any side while the case was happening and let that play out. Luke's accusations were dismissed and Kesha lied on Katy, so logically why is she still expected to permanently drop Luke and stand with Kesha? 
 

It's pretty odd she's put in a position where she has to side with someone who went around telling very extreme lies regarding her.

Babe you live in 2024! It is an usual thing for men to get away with raping without any proof! You must be sick in the head to think that Kesha or any women would accuse and waste years of their lives in courts, an "innocent" man! Proving rape is in fact one of the hardest cases because other than medical evidence, you cannot prove legally! Stop making up **** to make your fave look better for working with him! There's already enough said and done plus we all know what the women in the industry really thinks of dr luke after working with him! 

controversy aside, couldn't she have worked with fresher, cooler producers like i don't know… Fred Again? PinkPantheress? Erika De Casier? Peggy Gou? hell even FINNEAS 

 

but then again that would require her to have an ounce of creativity which judging by the snippet of Woman's World doesn't seem to be the case

Maybe don't twist my words. I've already said that I think her working with Luke is unnecessary and quite frankly, a rather desperate attempt for a hit. But I'm not going to let it ruin her comeback for me. And I only tried to make a fellow user's argument a bit clearer. I know that court isn't a definitive answer to justice. And I definitely know that it's incredibly hard for women to seek justice in court, especially for proving abuse or rape cases. 

Does the GP even know about this "scandal" or even care?

I clicked the link and there were only 13 comments; meanwhile an article about Justin Bieber placing his hand on Hailey's pregnant belly on the same website has 85 comments. I really think that she WON'T get a backlash for this and the only people who care are the ones who are mad at Dr. Luke on Stan Twitter; not even the Katy Scats even care anymore.
