Birds of a Feather being top 10 on Apple Music for two years straight = wasn't as big outside Spotify, carried heavily by Spotify autoplay, "gulf" of difference in performance, comparable to IKIIKY being out the top 10 on Apple Music after one week. It's hilarious how he made this thread with the original purpose to paint IKIIKY as the most stable 2026 hit but now the backtracking has started with "well BOAF was a way bigger hit so ofcourse it's gonna do better" . Is this not the biggest hit of the year anymore? Why can't it be compared to biggest hits from other years?

It Ain't Me & Wolves she is literally the sole vocalist, nobody was streaming it just bc Kygo and Marshmello lol. Even besides them, her solo hits were always faceless of their time songs (Back To You, Same Old Love, Come & Get It, Good for You, Hands To Myself, etc). "Lose You To Love Me" was really the only time she had a personal song but even then the album was still largely ignored. People were never fully interested in her aside from radio songs. She had a run very similar to Rihanna during like 2008-2012 (before ANTI kinda made her more respected). She is a radio artist that has a voice that isn't strong but works well with almost any modern Pop song. As long as she kept chasing hits she would've got them.

I actually think the exact opposite. Her best days were literally when she just chased radio hits. She is a singles artist, and the public never took her serious as far as albums. When she puts out droplets/DJ singles she is consistently getting big hits (Taki Taki, Wolves, Calm Down, It Ain't Me, etc). The minute she tried to go the "authentic singer-songwriter" route with the Benny Blanco album, it absolutely flopped after first week and had zero hits.

A hit song getting a high certification in the streaming era absolutely does not speak anything to standing the test of time. Unless you think Morgan Wallen having 20 Diamond plaques means he makes the most timeless music of our lives. This song is pulling the same amount of daily streams as Doja Cat's "Freak" (2020 song that failed to chart on Hot 100) as of today. It might soon start outstreaming her newest single "Ah Ha" though so there's that!

You were literally discussing global numbers for multiple posts.... In reality: You were running to talk about the global numbers, didn't realize BOAF was top 10 for multiple years straight, now want to pivot back to USA. All-Time Numbers can be influenced by a multitude of things outside of a song's performance. Apple Music has stagnated in users, while Spotify has grown largely thus it is easier for a song to go up further on their all-time charts quicker. YouTube for example is completely dead for music videos, even the most successful music video of 2026 would rank horifically all-time but that doesn't mean it did bad on the platform in 2026. If a song was the #1 song of the year on a platform, it did great on the platform. BOAF was #9 & #5, which you realize was an excellent performance so now you've moved away from trying to discredit it. These are both relatively great differences STILL. What even? If a song is #8 on Spotify & #17 on Apple Music right now, it wouldn't be "disproportinately doing well on one platform". That's moderate charting on both, not top 10 vs top 60. Again, you were wrong.

Why are you comparing all-time charting when we literally have data on how it did compared to songs at the same time. Birds of a Feather was in the top 10 on Apple Music for two years straight. So objectively it did not perform much worse on Apple Music, what even. Using your logic if Choosin' Texas is #1 on Spotify, Apple Music & Amazon Music Year-Ends, but 100 positions higher on Amazon Music's all-time chart then it was "carried by one platform".

So this is literally the point I'm making, not sure why you repeated it back. BOAF was never performing drastically different on Apple Music like @DevilsRollTheDice tried to misleading portray. It was top 10 for two years straight on that platform also during its entire single run. When it was at the top it was consistently high on BOTH platforms. It only now appears to be charting starkly different because it's in the lower positions on streaming platforms as an old catalogue song, in positions where streams are seperated by small amounts and thus positions are more likely to heavily fluctuate. IKIIKY is actually an example of a song that is having a drastic difference on streaming platforms during its entire run.

The brainrot is real, past the top 100 on Apple Music the streams are separated by very little. You could be #200 or #450 with the difference only actually being a few thousand streams for example. This is like saying being #550 on iTunes then falling and #838 next week because of 2 less sales is shady. So you've now refused to defend Amazon Music being completely overrun with autoplay to a much further extent than any other audio streaming platform once endless examples were provided. No, Amazon Music by far is nearly entirely driven by autoplay for all songs on there. This is why "Ordinary" is still regularly fighting for #1 on that platform a year after peaking on Hot 100.
